I’m betting that picture is neither Tom Montgomery NOR his winery. Nice job, IJ!

That we will see an addendum that says “File Photo”?

I think that’s Walgreens. I found the local NBC and ABC online news outlets have some real pix of local wineries with bottles and barrels crashed to the floor.

I wonder what Nancy’s vineyard looks like. She will have to get a subsidy to rebuild probably. She already got her exemption from water use. Add this to the list.

Agent, as a staunch anti-regulation believer, surely you don’t believe that we need water rights to begin with! Nancy is just doing whatever she wants, like god and Texas intended!

    Really?

Agent looks for any excuse, you should know that Celtica. You see, an Earthquake is brought on by “The Left” in his world view. I’m sure President Obama spawned it just so Nancy could collect a check from her carrier. He seems to be all mighty in that sense and in the next paragraph about terrorism, President Obama is an empty suit. Agent likes to have everything his own way and often repeats the Hannity narrative, though he claims not to watch or listen to him. Funny how I hear the exact same things when I do actually watch and listen to him. Agent seems to have a decent heart at times, but appears at times to be nothing more than a playback button on a Drudge recording device.

Hey Planet, I actually agree with one of your statements. Obama is an empty suit sock puppet who would rather play golf than do his job as President. How disgraceful was it that he made his statement on the beheading of the journalist and almost missed his tee time. Even a lot of Democrats thought that was an awful display of disinterest and disengagement.

Are you dumb Celtica? Did you not know Nancy had a large vineyard in the NAPA valley? Did you not know she had her vineyard exempted from water rationing the rest of the state has to live with?

I believe you are thinking about the San Francisco exemption from the state regs. Napa county is not exempt. Most of the vineyards are irrigated with private well water, the bigger farms in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valley belong to co-ops or get their water from “water or reclamation districts” that were created ages ago solely for agri-business. The “mandatory rationing” you hear about applies mostly to us in-town folks. And it’s not really “rationing” per se, meaning you only get so many gallons/day. More “mandatory cutbacks” and laws like: no washing your car without a shut-off nozzle, watering the yard 2x week only in the morning with no water run off, and such. If you’re interested, here’s a link showing difference between state regs and SF regs: http://sfwater.org/index.aspx?page=872 No doubt the state is in deep trouble, but urban water conservation has been a big deal for the past 40 or so years. So, there were a lot of “cutbacks and restrictions” in building codes, city planning etc., over time – even in wettest years. That’s why even a 10% cutback hurts – we are already pretty frugal with it. Of course, there will be winners and losers, though. The big story of California is not gold, it’s always been about the water. Did you ever see the movie “Chinatown”?

Agent: this confirms your standing as uneducated about vineyard farming in Napa Valley.

        — Many grapes are dry farmed.
        — Too much water makes a weak grape.
        — Vineyards by and large draw on their own well water …
        — Because…get this…there is NO aquaduct to Napa Valley

But you go ahead and tote the party line, uneducated as it is.
