Leave it to California to find a way to make traffic even worse. So if bicyclist can legally use the entire lane and they must follow all other rules of the road this should INCLUDE the SPEED LIMIT!!!! If I can get a ticket in my car for going too slow so should bicyclists!

Gets interesting when there’s no bike lane and a double-yellow. prepare to drive @ 10 mph until you can pass legally…or the bikers pull to the shoulder and let you pass…yeah, right. Roadies are obnoxious.

What a screwed up state! Now I have to drive with a friggin’ yardstick taped to my vehicle so I can determine a 3′ buffer zone. Since my car weighs more than their bikes, let’s put it on the road hogging, traffic snarling roadies to maintain a 3′ zone from me.

While this seems ok on the surface let’s now make certain that bikers [1] stop at stop signs and red lights; [2] use a bike light at night; [3] wear helmets. If I’m correct, all of these 3 are law but bikers don’t seem to care to follow them so why should I give them a 3′ buffer??????

If a bike rider is traveling in the breakdown lane, you go to pass them, get 1/2 way, and the biker swerves/steers into your travel lane, are you illegally passing them if you don’t move over or are they illegally making a “lane change” into your path?

Let’s also have bicyclists, whether two or 20, RIDE SINGLE FILE IN THE BIKE LANE. Just this morning I was driving to work and there was a large group of about 15 cyclists, riding side by side, taking up the ENTIRE DRIVING LANE so that I had to pull around them in the ONCOMING lane of traffic to get by them. And they wonder why car drivers don’t like them?
