Since when is being loud and obnoxious a protected class? The fact that they were loud, out of control and being rude to all the other passengers suddenly gets excused because of their skin color? If it was race, then why wasn’t the white skin member of the group allowed to stay? They had been asked several times to keep it down, and chose to ignore the requests. Where’s the personal accountability?

      Agent,

Speaking of taking personal responsibility, here is your opportunity.

Remember when you said, “Hey FFA, no doubt Rodgers is either 1 or 2 on the quarterback rankings. He shows it with every game. I wonder why he hasn’t won a Superbowl yet. Puzzling to say the least.”, even though he (the packers) did win a Super Bowl in 2010?

Also, you falsely accused Rosenblatt of calling bob an “anbry little man” even though it was BS who did and Rosenblatt was only holding BS accountable?

Are ready to take some personal responsibility?

I won’t lie – getting an apology from Agent who mistakenly said I called bob an ‘angry little man’, that I wasn’t toning down the rhetoric, and that I violated my own stance would be nice.

Otherwise, every time I write “I think swears and/or personal attacks are immature and have no place on this site” like Agent asked me to do, Agent could just incorrectly call me a hypocrite without ever acknowledging that he made a mistake and ascribed BS’s post to me.

Ron, Rosenblatt & Celtica, since this is the first time I pulled up this article, I won’t take credit for the “Fake Agent” stirring up trouble and causing your acidic replies.

Moniker theft still abounds on this blog. I suspect either Planet, Ins102 or UW being the culprit. I am sure their momma is real proud of them.

Whereas the “CEO tourist attraction’s has apologized for the incident”, do you think he will settle the suit as he also admitted what happened was wrong, or do you think he’ll try to fight it out in court?

The misanthrope Agent wrote, “The fact that they were loud, out of control and being rude to all the other passengers…”

“Fact”? Do you have a link that backs up your spurious assertions as being fact? No, you don’t.

Try being objective some time, old man.

Fair Playing Field aka “Stan”: You don’t disguise yourself very well. Now, I know it was you impersonating me. I was out of town when this article came out and only saw it today. You are quite a low life who allegedly got three degrees and was a professional student who couldn’t get a job. Since you are so stupid, I am inclined to believe you ordered those degrees from some online fake university and printed them out so you will feel better about yourself.

Yo, Agent, were you on the Wine Train with them? Maybe they were loud — you know how Book Club ladies get when away from the men folk. But you have no idea that they were out of control and being rude. They were just loud. And they were also on a wine train, a venue known for drinking and fun times, unlike, say, a church. Big diff.

Agree wholeheartedly with “agent says!” Why should these rowdy passengers be treated any differently than anyone else – entitlement?! The owner of the wine train, should file a counter suit for the loss of business if any, caused by these disorderly passengers and for the disruption caused to the other passengers who don’t believe that they are any more entitled than anyone else.

Why does everything have to be about race? These ladies were obnoxious and out of line. If they had privately booked the train with no other passengers, I’m sure there wouldn’t have been an issue. But after having been requested to quiet down, they had total disregard for their fellow passengers, continued to be too loud and deserved to be ejected. I agree with Agent and Mike. This suit should be promptly dismissed as ludicrous.

Read the transcripts of the other passengers attesting to how these folks were treated by staff and you’ll be AMAZED it’s only $1 mil each. Get real- are you not amazed the tour operator IMMEDIATELY admitted fault?! You think you know more than THEY do? IMEDIATELY- Who does that? People who KNOW they messed up horribly and stand a good chance of being REAMED in court, sued out of existence. They IMMEDIATELY say mea culpa so the jury doesn’t apply HUGE punitive awards in excess of suit demands. That they are suing for SO LITTLE reflects the high moral standards, accountability, and citizenship of these maligned people. Society owes them an apology for the horrible treatment they received. This suit is a welcomed minor market correction. America strong.

Okay expert…..where’s the proof of the racist treatment they received? Post it and I’ll gladly read it.

Otherwise, I call BS. In the last eight years pulling the race card has become an acceptable course of action immediately following any incident. Racist treatment is absolutely abhorrent, but even more devastating is the perpetual state of racism that envelopes our country because of those who shout and point when none exists. A lot of times it is self-created, so please excuse me if a story like this makes me think wolf is being cried once more.

The CEO of the train sure seems to agree that they screwed up…

“The Napa Valley Wine Train was 100 percent wrong in its handling of this issue,” said wine train chief executive officer Anthony “Tony” Giaccio. “We accept full responsibility for our failures and for the chain of events that led to this regrettable treatment of our guests.”

“Clearly, we knew in advance when we booked your party that you would be loud, fun-loving and boisterous—because you told us during the booking process that you wanted a place where your Club could enjoy each other’s company. Somehow that vital information never made it to the appropriate channels and we failed to seat your group where you could enjoy yourself properly and alert our train’s staff that they should expect a particularly vibrant group.

“We were insensitive when we asked you to depart our train by marching you down the aisle past all the other passengers. While that was the safest route for disembarking, it showed a lack of sensitivity on our part that I did not fully conceive of until you explained the humiliation of the experience and how it impacted you and your fellow Book Club members.

“We also erred by placing an inaccurate post on our Facebook site that was not reflective of what actually occurred. In the haste to respond to criticism and news inquires, we made a bad situation worse by rushing to answer questions on social media. We quickly removed the inaccurate post, but the harm was done by our erroneous post.

“In summary, we were acutely insensitive to you and the members of the Book Club. Please accept my apologies for our many mistakes and failures. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and our desire to please our guests on the Napa Valley Wine Train. In this instance, we failed in every measure of the meaning of good service, respect and hospitality.

I appreciate your recommendation that our staff, which I believe to be among the best, could use additional cultural diversity and sensitivity training. I pledge to make sure that occurs and I plan to participate myself.

“As I offered in my conversation with you today, please accept my personal apologies for your experience and the experience of the Book Club members. I would like to invite you and other members to return plus 39 other guests (you can fill an entire car of 50) as my personal guests in a reserved car where you can enjoy yourselves as loudly as you desire.

“I want to conclude again by offering my apologies for your terrible experience.”

Thank you BS – knowing the CEO’s stance and what was said puts a lot of context into what happened and why the company was sued. I think the biggest admission of their wrongdoing was this part:

Clearly, we knew in advance when we booked your party that you would be loud, fun-loving and boisterous—because you told us during the booking process that you wanted a place where your Club could enjoy each other’s company. Somehow that vital information never made it to the appropriate channels and we failed to seat your group where you could enjoy yourself properly and alert our train’s staff that they should expect a particularly vibrant group.

Rosenblatt, had the operators put them in the back of the train, they would have been sued for that as well.

Come on, THAT’S the way you take accountability, people! He acknowledged the error, offered apologies, and outlined a way to make it up to them. We can all learn from that letter.

I’m with you Louie – every human makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. Being able to take personal responsibility, even with a simple “hey, I made a mistake, I’m sorry, I’ll try to make it right and here’s how___”, seems to be a lost art online, in our government, in sports – who am I kidding? Basically, that lack of accountability has permeated into all areas of our lives.

Rosenblatt, when we have a government who doesn’t take responsibility for their mistakes and actions, it tends to bleed over into the population. Obama is the ring leader followed by his minions and Progressive Democrats.
