The new Independent Review, with its significantly burdensome documentation required of Medical Providers has ensured now most providers no longer will accept Injured Workers as patient in CA. This has decimated the MPNs leaving State Compensation Insurance Fund to recently disband their MPN, having to contract with Harbor Health, where their are virtually a very limited number of Non-Emergency providers left and those left are not recommended as competent providers by their patients to see for your injuries and only located in the major cities of CA. hundreds of miles for most location outside these areas. If you can’t find a provider, you can’t have treatment requested and if not requested it can’t be reviewed, but if requested, this review system almost always ensures for a denial and need for an appeal. They are still awaiting proper adjudication of their claims for necessary surgeries to fix physical disabilities stemming from the shootings at their workplace. Further problems treating the mental aspect of PTSD have also been problematic.
