Jerry Brown wants to build a mono rail right up the San Andreas fault line. Sounds like a good plan, right?

“Report: Big One Along Full-length of San Andreas Could be Quite Destructive” The person responsible for this headline should get the award for most obvious thought of the year. Here all this time I thought that a quake along the entire fault would result in minimal damage, thanks IJ for the stellar reporting.

mr bob, I was thinking the exact same thing !! I’m guessing that the author of this article was either up against a deadline or suffered from a colossal case of writer’s block.

Insurance people tend to think in terms of property losses, but the real concern is the loss of life, injuries, and economic havoc. WC claims could be as devastating as property. Time to begin preparations, the threat is real.

Perhaps it is time for the folks in California wanting to secede from the union to re-think their position. They might need the Feds to help if there is a massive quake that hits. By the way, Jerry Brown will not get a sympathetic ear from DC on his plan to build that monorail.
