Does the CA Dept of Insurance provide a list of cannabis insurance carriers?

How can an insurer provide coverage for illegal activities? Growing, distributing and using marijuana is still illegal under federal law, isn’t it?

There in is the issue. In California where the policy would be issued it is legal. The Feds still say it is illegal. An unscrupulous carrier could try to loophole a client out of coverage based on this. Pretty big risk for the insurance and the cannibals industry until something is settled.

First you advocate for government control over the private lives of its citizens. Then you advocate for federal regulation of health insurance (that is what would be needed to sell HCI policies across state lines). Now your are favoring the federal government over states’ rights.

Are you sure you’re a Conservative?

Jones is not a bad insurance commission, however he does not conduct himself in a professional manner when it comes to politics. He uses his office for politics and bringing up things like DACA on DOI letterhead is totally unrelated to his job as insurance commissioner. Since the insurance industry funds a good part of the DOI, is he campaigning on our dime? He also may have anger management issues as a level headed individual would not bring up non-insurance matters as official department business. This guy may be too immature and we don’t need a knee jerk reactor as AG.

The job has been used as a stepping stone for politicians aspiring for higher office ever since it was made an elective job. Jones is no exception. What irritates the most however, is how blatant he is in using the office for his own purposes. kind of feels like Garamendi lite.
What is sad is that the elected officials in the state state have gone from being a conservative Reagan stronghold to a wacky far left fringe that makes sane people wonder how they ever got elected in the first place. There needs to be a conservative resurgence and take back what the wackos have stolen from us, the people.

The state is diverse and does lean left due to heavy democrat stronghold in cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. However we don’t need to be liberal or conservative for whatever those stand for, we need to be sane. Right now it’s pure insanity such as the conduct of this insurance commissioner and things like making California in Sanctuary State. What kind of people would say, we want to make it legal to break the law? I don’t think this is conservative or liberal, I think this is just insanity. The people need to be educated what a sanctuary city, county or state is, it’s essentially aiding and abetting to a crime, this when a crime is committed by an illegal, they protect that person. Hence they are going beyond protecting innocent illegals, they are protecting criminal illegals. They key is to educate our fellow citizens exactly what this is and how disgusting it is. The politicians have further labeled illegals as “immigrants” and we need to educate people that this is a lie, they are not immigrants, but those people who insult immigrants buy just coming here unvetted without our permission. Can people come in your home without your permission?

You underestimate how liberal California is. If you split the state with any consideration to population then there would perhaps be one conservative state between LA and San Diego. Just like the rest of the nation, the conservative parts of California have such shockingly low population densities that they really aren’t significant.

Jones continues to work on his personal agenda through his professional office. He is totally campaigning for his run at AG and trying to get his views and statements on non-insurance related issues on the record. It is a blatant misuse of his office and authority. He has no reason to comment on DACA, Global Warming or the Presidents attempts at improving a broken health care system, on department letterhead as an official statement. His rewarding insurance companies that invest in wind energy and punishing companies that investment in coal industry without regard to their profitability and ROI is a corruption of his office and authority. He is pushing his personal agenda. I’m amazed that no one calls him on this stuff and the blatant favoritism shown.
