Looks similar to the Farmers acquisition of 21st Century, an online platform to compete with its own agency marketing system.

There are several agency markets in the Esurance/Answer Financial quoting network. I wonder how they feel knowing one of their big rivals will know all their rates and how to beat them. I think this violates the contracts they signed for online quoting networks.

Allstate agents & others need not worry. Allstate’s management will take over and run them into the ground like they have done with Allstate over the last 7 years. They lack vision or any good ideas so they fire people send as manuy jobs overseas as they can to cut costs. The only ones that need to worry are the people working at Esurance & Answer Fiancial.

Allstate is a morale killing company. Give them time and they will ruin esurance the same way they’ve ruined the Allstate name. A decade ago, you were in good hands with Allstate. Today, Mayhem reigns supreme at Allstate. They are simply a horrible company to deal with.

On-line auto insurance is only growing. Why invest so much in building competency and share of voice when you can buy it? Sometimes organic growth is the pricier proposition, particularly when attempting to forge a new channel.

I’ll leave the discussion of the Allstate culture to others.

This, among other things Allstate has been doing is undermining their captive agents. No wonder they have formed a guild/union to deal with upper management. Believe me, these guys are demoralized and many are seeking independents to get out of the Allstate network.
