I’m not sure if anyone noticed, but the NAIC has a page listing its redistributors. http://www.naic.org/prod_serv_redistributors.htm
What I find interesting is that Thomson Reuters and AM Best are left off. In fact, the SNL description makes an outright plug for their services. I know the NAIC is not a government agency, but charging crazy prices for data and pitching for your favored provider feels wrong, especially since these insurance companies get government support during times of crisis, and these regulatory assessments are conducted by state regulators.
