The state to the north of you has a resource as well. PIA (Professional Insurance Agents Association). They can be a vast resource & potentially have many publications regarding this topic! (http://www.piawest.com/) All the PIA's are very much involved in being proponents of our industry by help...

Just a heads up, you'll need E&O before a carrier will appoint you. I suggest getting hooked into your state PIA (Professional Insurance Agents Association). They will be instrumental in your success!

A lot HAS changed at Farmers. I am not an employee or anything but was affiliated with the Ohio AgencyPoint & they really do have a great program but it really is geared towards a long term committment to building your own business & taking full responsibility over it. I think you'd be best ...

Taylyn...the best thing you can do is join your state PIA (Professional Insurance Agents) association. They have every resource for every thing (start-ups especially)...they even can grant you access to aggrigators. No aggrigator fee, no comission split. You should look into it! You really should!
