Re: National Agents Alliance? Legit or Keep Away?
I've been with NAA for about a year, but I knew what I was getting into when I joined. I don't buy a lot of leads, but I'm mostly in it for the contracts.

Re: 1st Year as a Producer Stories
Glad to hear you're going strong! Instead of another response from all these other guys telling you what to do, here's what you asked for in the first place (a story!): I was out knocking doors in OK selling crop insurance door to door. Yes, I really was knocking on doors. Anyway, I drive up into th...

Re: non compete clause
I would not solicit anyone that you had on the books for one year. If family and friends do not wish to be with him and ASK YOU to write them, you should have them go to the agent and explain to him they would like to leave. Then, you may write them in your agency. Non-competes rarely stand up if yo...

Re: Question regarding my universal life insurance policy !
Great responses. It's clear we've all seen this before. The problem I've seen with UL policies is that the client goes for that low premium and fails to fully fund the policy. Then, we get here to this problem. I don't care for UL's, and I try not to sell them at all. If I can help you in any way, p...

Exactly how do I go paperless?
I'm starting an agency in January, and in the planning stages, we've come up to the paper/paperless decision. What, exactly, do I have to have for equipment and storage to become paperless? Do I have to scan every little scrap of paper? Is this going to take another staff person just to do the scann...

Re: a thought
call me simple, but maybe you could check your own auto policy, along with those of others you know who drive 'average' cars, and live in 'average homes' in your area, and ask them what their 'average premium' is. Oh, wow. That would be a great idea, huh? What was I thinking??? If you're gonna be a...

average commission
Has anyone taken the time to find out what an auto and/or homeowners policy pays on the average? I'm trying to do my forecasts for a new agency, and don't know if the goals I'm setting for the business plan are unreasonable? The agency would be in Oklahoma, btw.
