Re: Start up cost for a new agent
I used to call on several Great Florida Agents. It has been three years since I have talked to any of them but the agents rarely had anything to say other than positive comments about the relationship. Based on that I would definitely look into them.

Re: Agency Management System
I have personally worked with over 100 agencies that use Quomation's rating system. For the most part they are extremely happy with what they are purchasing. The agents who have decided to use the Power Manage management system are very happy with it. It is no AMS but it is great for the average age...

Re: Liberty Mutual
Good Benefits, Good area to learn business. I would go in with less than a five year plan. I know very few agents that make it past the five year window and those that do end up being forced out. I was one of them and several of my friends had the same thing happen. Notice that they are always hirin...

West Bend Mutual
West Bend is entering our state in the near future. How are they to work with? Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated concerning them as an agency partner and as a company in general. Are they better at Personal Lines or Commerical? Are they good at both? How is the culture of this c...

Before you roll from our buddies at Progressive make sure you have done your homework. Most companies that could take on Progressive type business probably don't do as good of a job servicing the customers. Obviously you are searching for a company that pays a fair commission and also doesn't compet...

New Agent
If you do try Non Standard Auto. You can make money doing this. It is probably the easiest to get started with. I suggest looking at Mendota. They are Traveler's non standard company. Very easy to work with and excellent rates in CA. You could probably get an appointment if you committed to using th...

Hello, Look at onlyfinacialgroup.com. I have tried many things all the way from direct writers to banks to attempting buyout of small p an c agency. I think onlyfinacialgoup is probably the easiest plan to pay off with. It is strictly life, however, it is high volume and effective. P and C has the r...

They are OK. I worked for them for five years. They fell to an A rating in 1993 and regained A+ in 1997. They probably will not fall below A unless we have another major catastrophe. It is true that they have some Asbestos problems from many years ago, however they are extemely solid. They could eli...

Hello, I would follow up at least six times unless you get very cold responses. I would make certain that I have a very competitive product because internet leads are heavily influenced by price. PRICE, PRICE, PRICE. You can be very successful if you develop a comfort level working by mail and worki...

Hello, I was involved with United American for a few months in 2000. I was impressed with the people I met in their home office. I was also impressed with the stability of their company financially. I really didn't like anything else about their program. I felt many of the people that were working t...
