Pre 1980 Workers' Compensation Policy Form

I'm doing some research into workers' compensation and the evolution of the policy forms. I'm looking for sample policies in use prior to 1980. Id appreciate anyone willing to forward me a copy of the policy forms.

Thanks.

NYC Agent of Consultant Needed For Video

I'm helping a friend... I'm looking for an agent near NY city to do a video interview on personal umbrella liability insurance. This is a major US media company looking to put "how to" videos on their website. No pay, but bragging rights and you can probably negotiate using the video on yo...

Re: Astonishing results: Agency online marketing

The only way anyone can be in your office for 6 hours is if you let them stay! Good lord, man. I rarely spend an hour on the phone with a good client never mind a vendor.

Grow some stones! If you don't respect your time, who will.

Re: Reviews and checklists

For years I used the checklists built by others. I didnt like any of them, so I built my own. While there are many sources (including my own books) where you can buy checklists, I suggest you build your own - that matches your style and approach. With a computer you can build, change, amend, and evo...

Using LinkedIn To Get Referrals

I am not yet big into using social media to get new business. I do "Tweet" a few times a week (@scottsimmonds) and I am active on LinkedIn . I have not used the "connections"feature of LinkedIn to make connections with people I don't know. I do request a connection with people I ...

Re: CA Agent Needed

I have great respect for GEICO. I was interested to hear of their agency program. Thanks. I had missed that. Here is some more info - http://careers.geico.com/own_an_agency. It's interesting to see their approach and the individual agent pages. One of the pages I looked at was the agent in Marietta ...

Re: CA Agent Needed

I did not say this was easy. The hardware stores that went out of business did not differentiate themselves. They could not find the customers that valued the value - or find enough who did. Competitors do not put businesses out of business. A failure to successfully respond to the changing marketpl...

Re: CA Agent Needed

PL can be a commodity if you let it. Why does someone buy from GEICO? What can you provide that GEICO can't? Think about hardware stores (stay with me). Imagine you own a family hardware store and you get word that Home Depot is coming to town. What do you do? What services would you offer that HD w...

You Are In The Marketing Business!!!

On the "Hard to Find Market" board of this forum I posted a request for a CA agent to help with a client of mine. After I got the responses I needed I posted some comments about the responses. Read it here . I mention agent websites, blogs, and other tactics of marketing gravity. Agents, f...

Re: CA Agent Needed

D, Im glad you posted your comments. It brings up a misconception about my approach. I do push my mentor clients to be specialists in a market. That market, however, might be personal lines in the 048xx zip code. Look at my insurance blog (www.InsuranceAssuranceBlog.com). I am all over the place - p...

Already contacted the local Phili office a week ago. They would not recommend anyone.
