Re: Applied's Epic vs AMS360

One of the best features on Epic is the "opportunity cost" metrics that are easily generated. It measures how much time is spent, by employee, on any specific account. Say you have a little BOP that brings in $500 revenue, but you're spending $1,000 in payroll on it. It makes it easy to d...

Re: Nexsure vs AMS 360

I would recommend anyone interested in the Nexsure debate to look at the following thread: http://www.insurancejournal.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1380&p=5430&hilit=nexsure#p5430 I just finished a 1 year term on the AMS 360 R&D Committee. I can assure you that they are using the l...

I do not know of a tool to do this. What details are you thinking the system should track? Depending on the complexity and my schedule I **may** be able to put together something for you.

I would also recommend checking references and talking to agencies of similar size and markets as yours. Also ask for a trial so you can actually go in and play with the software.

Sandog, I missed this post earlier. We have done the same - as a result are cat and dog poor! It is amazing how cruel some folks are. It is heartwarming to hear the story and I am sorry for the loss. It is amazing how quickly we become attached to animals - especially those in need. The ladies at th...

racecarlover, we are small - around $15m of premium at this time. We do 99% comercial line trucking - very niche market. Our carriers do not offer download so everything is manually entered into the system by hand. Another thing to consider is that because we are small, people do multiple functions ...

Sanddog1, I am glad you are happy with Nexsure. It must be nice that the issues that I mentioned that were global did not affect your business. Makes me wonder just how much you are actually using Nexsure. Not being able to print for 2 weeks caused huge problems for most agencies. I am glad you have...

Sanddog1, You are barking up the wrong tree buddy. I am the operations manager of a commercial lines agency. I selected Nexsure for our agency early in 2006. I have been down the Nexsure road. I was at the January 06 users group meeting in Brea listening to users complain about all of the stuff that...

sanddog1, In rereading my post, I wonder where you get the idea that I badmouthed Nexsure. It is one thing to bad mouth a product and another to relate actual experiences with the product. I can provide a comparison between 360 and Nexsure as I have used both within the last 6 months. Plus if you se...

We recently moved from Nexsure to AMS 360. I can state with confidence that this is one of the decisions that will absolutely affect the productivity and profitability of the agency. I do not intend to discourage you from Nexsure, but to pass on some advice to do your research and due diligence of b...

Agency Operations and Proceedure Manuals

Does anyone have a recommendation or source for samples of good agency operations and management manuals? I would like to use any ideas or samples as a basis for creating ours.
