Re: Independent Start Up
There will always be new things that disrupt any model you establish, i.e., Lemonade Insurance. If you worry and over analyze every possible factor that will cause you to loose business, you will never enter into this industry. Do not take on too many appointments. You will find you will only place ...

Re: Independent Start Up
I have been approached by a company called Coastal Business Intermediaries about selling my book of business. You might try giving them a call about books for sell in your area. Ask for Pat at 321-255-1309.

Re: Independent Start Up

Re: Ringless Voicemail Leads
Has anyone ever tried Datalot leads? The leads are expensive but exclusive. They say they have about a 35% conversion rate. Not sure if the conversion rate is about the same for all lead companies or if this is a low rate. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Re: Can anyone vouche for Noodle, Smart Choice, Agent Secure
The customer service at Insurance Noodle is the worst. I call the carriers directly now for endorsements, billing questions, etc. because no one from Noodle will call back or I get a response weeks after the request is made to them. Have not had any issues getting policies bound but after that it is...

What state are you in as the law varies by state? Did the friend list the other driver as someone that would be operating the vehicle? So many variables in play.

Re: I was hired as CSR; now owner demands I be a producer

Perhaps the agent has seen you are either strong or weak where you were originally assigned and believes you would be a greater asset in your new position. Attitude goes a long way in a s...

Re: Going Independent without going the Captive Route
After giving this post more thought, I wonder if you will even be able to purchase an E&O policy without experience. If you can, I can't even imagine what the premium will be. Good luck.

Re: Going Independent without going the Captive Route
I would recommend working as a producer or licensed CSR before taking the plunge. You may find this is not the industry for you. Getting an appointment with any carrier when you have no experience is not going to happen.

Re: Brand new agent starting up a retail front
Good luck on your new career path. If you are signing a captive agent contract, your carrier will provide you with training. If by "starting up a retail front", you mean you are putting your agency in a retail shopping center or store front, don't expect to build your book of business from...
