Yes I just took it last week. It is similar to any multiple-choice exam from the AICPCU where you have 2 sections with 4 multiple choice answers. Section 1 was ~50 questions with simple questions (e.g. A business invitee is owed what duty of care? A) Extreme Care, ...) and Section 2 was 50 question...

Definitely go for it! Especially since the CPCU 530 is one of the more difficult exams. You'll have no problem crushing the CPCU 520 if you're already used to the exam format. I actually work with a lawyer right now, he was a prosecutor for a couple years and now he's a happy homeowners analyst!

Then I would pursue the CPCU. I would venture to guess that your employer would pay for the classes. The benefit to you is that you would be acquiring knowledge and learning how different insurance companies operate. You would also gain valuable contacts for you to discuss future plans.
