Well, the bottom line at this point is that nothing will go any further until you get a lawyer. You can vent your frustration all you want but nothing will happen until a lawyer gets involved.

Re: Agree with cathiea

Been in P&C 35 years. I won't send apps for quotes on property I haven't visited personally. I also do hazard surveys and always talk to the building, vehicle, and equipment maintenance people. My field glasses get me a nice close-up of the roof as well as other items of interest. When I acquir...

[quote="Porter"]Just because you got a # from some joker does not mean you can call them. What if they are on the "Do Not Call List"? You still need to scrub the #. Most professionals will be on the "Do Not Call List". My referral program is very simple. "If you kn...

I would have a problem with having a third party complete apps for an account that generated a large premium just because of the complexity of the account. Who would be completing the apps? Seasoned commercial agents who know the right questions to ask or a $10. an hour newby just filling in the bl...

Re: GEICO refusal to pay claim update...

It goes to show, with a bit of work you can get what you need. There was an accident reconstructionist that submitted a report after his evaluation of pictures, accident site..etc. He determined that there was no way that the accident could have occurred the way GEICO's insured or her alleged witne...

This is probably somebody who is unhappy with his current agent and is shopping for a new one. Oh boy, if I only had a dollar for every account I have seen where the insured is "unhappy with his current agent." Some of the reasons for this include: 1. Insured low-balled his exposures goin...

We provide whatever we can get from the property owner. The more information the better, obviously.

I don't think we want to "stay tuned" you sound like a used car salesman Well, it won't require any effort on your pat, I assure you. I guess it all depends on the skill of the person doing the presentation. If you want to know the truth, the conversation on referrals never got past the p...

It all sounds good and stuff, but all i personally care about is the history of the account i.e loss runs and the carrier he is with. That's it. If the property owner currently pays 65 cents with lloyds of london and i can take it to a carrier for 25 cents, then i would pay 2000 for the account bec...

You get a complete app, ready for submission to a carrier of your choice for five to ten percent of the expected commission This is the part I was talking about. Okay, I've read and read again and re-read this post 'til I can't see straight. Email me - I'm in. Yeah, I reread that myself and I can s...

Wolfman, Send me one of your "carbonless" sheets with 12 referrals on it. It must be dated between 5/1/05 and 5/1/06. The referral source must be a doctor or lawyer who I can call at their office. I will call the referral source to confirm your approach and half the referrals. Also send a...

Just to give you a hypothetical example of the costs. Let's assume 100,000 in premium. 12,000 in commission If we sell five of these packages (let's assume there are only five insurance carriers that might be interested in this particular risk) then the price per package would be about 1,200, or les...

What method??? Oh, so in some obscure post, you say "just get referrals", and some other poster says at some point in their lengthy career, "you have GOT to cold call and use sandwich boards", and about every other day, some one says "screw commissions, work on fees". ...
