LaPorte I have seen and just about anything that close to the coast. But Harris County - especially if you are North of I-10 - I have not seen much of a change. Even with frame. What carriers?

Anybody else seeing this who is in Texas?

Interesting post. I also work in South Texas but I am not seeing as much pull back as you are talking about or the higher deductibles. Tier 1, yes, but Harris County, not so much. What kind of TIV are you looking at?

Contrary to the obvious nature of the responses, this was a serious question.

Thought that it would be interesting to find out how the rest of the world finds the needs of their prospective clients.

Though the strip club situation would certainly work for some of my customers.

I am interested in thoughts regarding what services different agents out there are offering clients that may be seen as differentiating factors. What makes what you might do different from what the guy next door is doing and so on. My point here is that we all are in this business to succeed - but w...

Although that is a tough one - I would tend to agree that as the insurance agent - you are not responsible for the legal status of your client. How about this one - you have an existing client whom unbeknownst to you is hiring illegal employees. One of these employee's has a workers' compensation in...

I know that here in Texas there is an actual form that the Texas Department of Insurance produces regarding uninsured subs on the WC. It basically states that if the sub signs the form, he agrees that he is completely barred from any of the benefits that might be afforded him if he were an employee....

I have to say - I am a little surprised that the non-compete issue has not been touched on much. I am not aware of many agencies/carriers who don't have some sort of non-compete language in the employment agreement.

Try AIG WorldSource.

Incidentally, you will not necessarily have to move the WC, Foreign can be - and many times is - written as a stand alone.

I have to agree about Liberty Mutual. I started with Liberty 7 years ago as an adjuster and quickly learned that the commercial sales side is where I wanted to be. The training that you receive is bar none per my conversations with others in the industry. You are basically paid to learn for the firs...

The husband of a friend of mine used to make tamales - she would bring these to prospects - worked almost every time. Also, breakfast sandwiches. Rather than donuts, most folks don't think of a breakfast sandwich as a sugary no-no.
