Re: Appointment with personal line carriers

The regional sales managers have the power to appoint new agencies. First you have to identify them and then get in their good graces. Put together a knock out business plan. Present it to them. See what happens.

If all else fails then you can always use an aggregator.

Question on Final Expense Death Claim

I worked with a client who insured their parent. I do not want to disclose the carrier - not sure if I'm allowed to under contract BUT anyways.... The client's parent passed away within the 2 year elimination period. We sent the death packet to the carrier and its been about a month. I called the ca...

Re: Is the independent insurance agency channel healthy?

Since doing this process effectively alongside educating the client AT THE SALE and EVERY ANNUAL CLIENT REVIEW to let them know if they get ANYTHING that looks goofy, or a price increase from the carrier, of which we have many... to CALL US IMMEDIATELY. I think this is the answer to the original po...

Re: Email Disclaimers

No proposal necessary, just a choice... I agree 100%. Set the expectation for the flo...

With that said - there is plenty of fish in the sea. Keep an eye out for direct carriers trying to redefine the game. Ever heard of Root? I recent...

Re: About downloading PDF policies

The human interaction consists of about 1 minute to download and import. I'm not sure a truly automated system exists.

Re: Supporting agent transition from captive to independent

Okay - I left captive 2.5 years ago. Built a scratch agency. Recently brought on a partner who came from the same background. Both of us came from State Farm, great company. I've learned a lot from that transitional period. My partner also experienced some of the same frustrations and "issues&q...

Re: Best advice for new producer...

Two pronged approach. #1 Dig wells. #2 Drink now - because your thirsty #1 means you have to create long-term relationships to be successful in any industry. #2 means you have to get some sales on the book immediately to survive. It seems like you are doing all the right things. Just prioritize the ...

Re: About downloading PDF policies

We download and enter it into our file management system - which is separate from our CRM. Although the CRM has upload capability too.

I'm not sure it is necessary - CRMs also can automatically download the policy, changes, rates, etc. It does most of the heavy lifting for you.
