Re: D&O for Non Profit
I don't think it's a matter of who will insure a non profit, I think it's a matter of who will insure them for Civil Rights violations. Those are not accidental acts, and would anyone actualy provide coverage for that? isn't that your real question? You can buy coverage for Tenant Discrimination, pe...

This might be not relevent, but wouldn't the injured worker seek remeditaion against their Work Comp carrier? And then the Work Comp carrier might subrogate back against the Hospital , or the linen company, or whomever?

I am going to guess the other cluster is PIIB...they are a growing group, and I hear good things about them from their members. Based in NorCal, I believe, but are making inroads in Southern California now.

Are you honestly saying you make no attempt to notify a client when their policy is in cancellation mode?

Re: Can an employer fire an employee because their pre-convi
I am no attorney, but I would suggest that depending on what the employee was arrested for, could give the employer cause? For instance, was it a DUI arrest, and is the employee an outside salesperson? Was it for endangering a child, and the employee works in a day care? I find it interesting that t...

Re: IA start up with a twist
I think what he meant is that most IA"s start out the same way you are proposing....there is nothing particularly new about 2 guys sharing an office and selling insurance together. My bigger concern for you is that you are 90% PL, and by that I assume you mean Personal Lines. If you want to be ...

Good point about the Wage and Hour on the EPLI. That is a material coverage deficiency for Farmers. I am actually surprised they have not addressed that yet.

Re: Calling all experienced MGAs...is this a fair deal?
I think the fact that you are responsible for your own marketing, sales and service is an issue. You can't do all three well, and so what would likely end up happening is the service suffers...which irritates your current clients, and hurts your renewal book. But, if you are unemployed now, it's bet...

Re: Licensing Outsourcing? Viable?
If you are a large firm, this could be a good way to be sure all your producers are currently licensed. For smaller firms, I think it's more money than it's worth, but then again, I think an agent that can't keep track of his own license renewal is probably not on top of other things, either.

Re: CA Electrical Contractor BOP/GL
Moving a policy from preferred lines to Surplus lines is not illegal, IF you do it for Forms or Coverages, and not for price. If Farmers cannot offer the CG2010 11/85, and the E &S carriers will do so, then you move it.
