Any time I see an agent being sued my ears perk up. Apparently her son was a passenger in the 'at fault vehicle'. I'm curious what kind of special coverage she's claiming wasn't included in the policy--Med Pay? UM?

multiple residential dwellings in LLC (GA)
Being on the personal lines side, we frequently run into resistance with our standard markets regarding the # of rentals someone owns and/or rentals in the name of an LLC. Is anyone aware of a PL product option or does something like this always have to go commercial? Who do you find is best for thi...

Re: Danger in adding landlord as additional insured?
I don't know of any company that will agree to add a landlord (or apartment complex or builder, etc) as an Additional Insured to a property policy. That would provide coverage (including liability protection) to the AI which companies just aren't willing to do. They can usually just be added as an A...

Re: Excluded Driver Surcharge
But the exclusion form only excludes them from coverage if they're driving a listed car. There are many situations where a household member could still be eligible for coverage when they're not driving a listed car, especially if it's a dependent household member.

Re: Personal Auto Policy - Teen Driver and Title Issues
You need a signed driver exclusion form for the umbrella policy as well. The auto form is most likely only going to exclude coverage if he's driving one of the listed cars; NOT any excess exposure this client faces if son only carries minimum liability on his own policy. Because he's a dependent res...

Re: Canceling Current Policies Auto/Home
Does your agency have a PL appointment with the carrier they're currently with? If so and they don't necessarily want to leave the carrier but just change agencies you can have the policies transferred with a signed Agent Of Record letter. That way you don't have to cancel and face possible premium ...

educational emails
I subscribe to the IIA Virtual University free educational emails that go out once/week. I love receiving these and always save them and have referred to them in several scenarios as the need arises. Are there any other sources for something similar? FAIA has a fantastic 'education libarary' to look...

salary info
I work on the carrier side and am considering a job offer in a different department. I'm trying to find the best tool to determine if the salary is fair based on my location, experience and education. I've tried several of the popular sites (glassdoor, payscale, salary, etc) but none seem to get too...

you might have to just call each of your underwriters. It might come down to asking for an exception from your best relationship carrier; assuming you feel strongly about the particular client. I'd make sure they have netting and the trampoline is behind a locked privacy fence--be prepared to supply...
