Re: adp peo
So here's my two cents worth. My agency having over 80 employees places business with only 2 PEOs at this time. And while I generally agree with you Big, I also believe that the PEO alternative makes sense and is a great fit for some clients and makes no sense and is not a fit for others. Now there ...

Re: Pizza Delivery Work Comp
Jam, I'll try to give you the 'nutshell' version. PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations) operate by taking control of the employee base for your clients and enter into a 'co-employer' agreement with them. They will become the 'Employer of Record'. They will take over the processing of payroll, c...

Two comments: 1) Farmers seems to be writing ANYTHING these days. I've seen them writing Tow Trucks in Ca lately....and they're giving away the farm on pricing, $600 for $1mil liability unheard of for tow trucks...I believe they're going to lose they're collective butts... 2) I would recommend you t...

Re: Conflict of Interest
If your friend wants to get paid for this referral business tell him to Man up and become a producer for his agency, then there's no conflict and he can get the business placed wherever he wants and get paid for it. If he tries to steal this business from where it belongs, which is with the agency h...

Re: Consultants
This happened to me as well just recently. The problem is the client is in the position of trying to keep their company afloat and absolutley HAS to get better control of every budget dollar so if the "Consultant" is even halfway convincing the client almost inevitably will agree to give t...

Re: Specialized Equipment Dealership w/ Repairs in MO
Jimmy, IDK if it is offered in your state but Hartford offers a STEP program, Specialized Truck Equipment Ins Program. If you can find access this program it should give you everything you need up to and including the Work Comp... I have found this to be an unbeatable program from a coverage and cos...

Re: Better Call Handling
InsNerd, You've been given some good suggestions about 'training' your clients to rely on the capabilities of your service staff. I have one more small suggestion which I believe will help, and then a final comment. Firstly, when you meet with the prospect for the first time selling the 'services' y...

Re: Ca Broker Fee
micha, I agree your agency is wrong and I'd take every account from them that i got in the door on. All a broker needs to do is show that the client paid you twice for the same amount of effort (if any) and you're toast. It is a very rare case indeed when my agency charges a broker fee at all. In fa...

Re: Ca Broker Fee
Ken, Here's my opinion on the topic. Firstly, if you're shopping 10 markets on an account that generates under $500 - $1,000 commissioned income, you're shopping too many markets and doing too much work, pick 2-3 and focus on them. Cut your time and costs! Second, my rule of thumb is simple. If you ...

That will depend on what type of operation, and what experience the risk has....
Do they need GKLL, Garage Lia, Cargo or on-hook? Doing repos? Contract towing? Private? With impound or not?

Re: State Farm Personal articles insurance?
I agree 100% with d's post. Your value is going to be subject to current market costs, so your best bet for assuring that your replacement is of comparable quality regardless of current market pricing is the Certificate which defines exactly what the item contained as far as cut, color, clarity and ...

Re: State Farm Personal articles insurance?
You should have gotten a quality certificate when you bought it originally. That would allow you to show the quality to be used for appraisal.
Or if you have a copy of the appraisal which you mentioned then replacing the ring with 'Like kind and quality' should not be an issue.

Re: Need GK Contractor In Ca
With full claims data this shouldn't be that much of a problem to replace. There're probably a dozen options out there for you in surplus lines. Call Susanne at Partners, she'll tell you what your options are and who the best option will be, (559) 389-5816 I think you'll find exactly what you need t...
Re: Az newbie
Lobo, here's my opinion for what it's worth. If you can find a captive situation you should probably give it serious consideration. Going into the IA side will require a good deal of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism(even though you're a rookie this will be very important to getting your foot i...

Re: Non Owned Auto Liability for Restaurant/Pizzeria
Try contacting Art Lyons at AFC Insurance, Inc. Lookup at www.afcpizza.com, they run a complete pizza program for Firemans Fund that is probably the best around but has very limited access.
Good luck!
