I have a prospect that was referred to me and they are a Commercial Truck Broker and need E&O/Liability. The trucks transport fuel/gasoline however they do not own the trucks - they are only the "middle-man".
Anyone out there interested?

Re: brightway insurance brokerage in florida
Brightway, SF, Allstate, Nationwide, etc.... are all the same. You work for somebody else. You don't work for you. Simple as that. You don't get to make the "decisions". They make the decisions for you and if you don't like it, well, too bad. Anyone thinking of getting into this business, ...

Re: Agency Management System
Can anyone give information on NexSure? How do you like it or dislike it? I have been looking around for a new system. AMS 360 and Applied are too expensive for me so I am looking for good alternitive that I can afford. I need a system that is online. Thanks, Porter Porter when I was looking for sy...

Re: Agency Management System
Socalagent, why are you yelling? Do you yell at your clients also?
As for systems, nothing beats AMS360. A tiny bit more expensive than others, but hey, got pay to play!

Re: Agent Selection in the Bid Process - Case Study
Scott glad everything worked out. As for the two agents that did not get the business, well, since they were made aware of the rules of the game ahead of time, I am sure they had nothing to complain about. On a side note, yesterday I had an episode that reminded me of this topic. A client of mine of...

Re: Agent Selection in the Bid Process - Case Study
Thanks for the interesting comments. What I left out of the description of events was the questionnaire each agent was provided. It invited each to describe their abilities, experience, expertise, processes, etc. While agents were given a list of questions we wanted answered, they were invited to p...

Re: Agent Selection in the Bid Process - Case Study
Scott I think your bidding process has some major flaws and you may be alienating some of the "better agents". Let me explain. If I am an agent that has everything going my way meaning my service is impeccable, I promptly return all calls, I am there at claim time when clients need me the ...

Re: Disclosure of losses from prior entity
I had a similar case recently. Client has a vehicle that he uses for business (making deliveries). Client wanted me to insure this vehicle under a personal auto insurance policy. Here was my reply to the client AFTER he asked WHY other agents would do it and I wouldn't: "Could you get a persona...

Re: Marketing Marketing Marketing
And on a different subject, the problem with many agents is that they try to be the "write-everything-jack-of-all-trades agent" and that my friends simply does not work. The best approach is to target three to four SPECIFIC industries and become GOOD at it. Know your competitors inside out...

Re: Marketing Marketing Marketing
I respectively disagree with Policyman. Scott's blog is very good and informative, and full of good advice. The notion that Scott is "out there to get agents" is well, nonsense. If you read and comprehend what Scott is really doing, you will understand that Scott is actually HELPING us age...
Re: Stop It!
Scott brings up a good point about never leaving a proposal with a prospect, but I was just wondering if anyone here is actually doing it? If so, what has your experience been like?

Re: New producers
I always tell my new producers (and old timers also) they have to specialize in an industry and go after it exclusively. Yes it may take a little more time (around 2 years) to get your name out there but later on you will be working less and making more. I've found the shotgun/jack-of-all-trades/kno...

Agreed. The Tuscano newsletters has a nice spin to it to where it is not necessarily talking about insurance but it is still interesting to read. I must admit I am now re-thinking my newsletter approach altogether.

Re: Insurance Newsletter
Thanks johnhoefer and I agree with you d's insurance store wholeheartdely but I was "hoping" to find a publishing company that allows me to pick the industries/segments and the stories I want making it somewhat of a customized newsletter.
