Re: Liability exposure co-signing for auto loan
I have always used an example the great Paul Harvey told on his radio show years ago to make the point about cosigning loans: Mom cosigned for son's motorcycle, that put her name on the title. Son got tired of the motorcycle and sold to a friend but held the title until the friend paid it off. Befor...

Needing GL for event with an anvil shoot
Anybody have any idea where to place a special event that includes an anvil shoot? Last I scoured the marketplace five or six years ago I came up empty. I got a call this morning from a community event group we write and they want to include an anvil shoot in this year's event. I tried to discourage...

Re: Non-for-profit Volunteer Coverge
C'mon insurance professionals. Are you not aware the GL Medical Payments coverage provides Med Pay for volunteers as an exception to the Med Pay exclusion for 'any insured'? The insurers that we do business with that have programs for non-profits typically include coverage extensions that, amongst o...

Re: Garagekeepers Coverage - Florida Account
Californiadude: Of course the car owners could turn it in under their Comp, but why would their insurers try to go back on the garage? After all, if the garage was negligent, the Legal Liability would have paid the claim. So to subrogate to the garage would be a waste of time because there was no ne...

Re: CA-Sales of defibrillators & CPR Training
Not a BOP, but BOPs don't have the Professional they need. Northfield Insurance Co. will do a GL and Professional in a single package for a CPR instructor. Got it through Bohrer Croxdale & McAdoo in Springfield, MO. Ask for Debbie Shelton.

Re: Winery Tour (Designated Driver) coverage for non-owned /
You better get yourself one heck of an understanding insurer and do one heck of of a job putting that Non-Owned coverage together. Are you aware that if your winery customer is in a rental car, the rental car contract coverage is void the moment a driver not listed as a driver on the contract hops b...

Re: Do you purchase Damage Waiver when renting a car?
Lonestar, we realize Texas is a whole 'nuther nation, but the rest of us using the ISO PAP cover damage to a rental car from the Physical Damage section. The old Family Auto Policy paid under the Liabilty section, but that was changed years ago when the PAP replaced it and moved coverage for damage ...

Re: No Fault insurance question
John J90, you need to study up on your state's no-fault laws if you are out marketing auto insurance. It's pretty critical that you know how the coverage works. Scenario 1 involving damage to the autos has nothing to do with a no-fault law's coverage. The damage to B's car would be paid by A's Prope...

Prior to my putting a total package with regional insurer West Bend for our local Extension Council, the only standard market offering a GL to cover 4H activities was Hartford.

Re: Offroad Racing Insurance
Chris, you are going to be disappointed unles there is some daring new Lloyd's guy out there that will insure your car while racing. In many attempts over the years, we have only been able to find coverage for a race car while not actually racing. We can cover it for physical damage while in storage...

I cannot understand the study and learning attitudes taken by the recurring posts of CPCU candidates. Why are you all so intent on minimizing your study efforts in the quest to breeze through the CPCU exams with the least amount of effort possible? The CPCU program offers a wealth of valuable inform...

Re: SIC Code- 5057
Read the SCOPES manual. A cross reference for code 5057 is Vault Construction or Installation. "Code 5057 is additionally applied to specialist contractors engaged in the construction or installation of fire- or burglar-proof vaults."
