Re: Farmers - your opinion
Lonestar - I realize that you have a beef with Farmers but your information is not correct. If you are under the new contract with Farmers, you have to get written authorization from Farmers to write business outside. If you are under the old contract, your obligation to Farmers is to give them firs...

Re: Nationwide
In California anyways, Nationwide has had a history of coming into the state with all guns blazing, buying the commercial business and then dropping everything 2-4 years later and then repeating this cycle a few years later. I have seen this over 30 years. Please understand that Nationwide is not al...

Farmers will do that. I have two others risks insured with them right now like that.

We can do it with Farmers. It may not be in BOP form though. Contact me offline if you are interested.

Re: CA liability coverage for product - Gopher Gasser
Why isn't the manufacturer covering the products liability through a vendor endorsement? If they have to carry it themselves, we have had success with a manufacturer of a biodegradable pesticide through Bliss & Glennon.

Farmers will write it. I know that is not what you want to hear but I can do it for you if you wish.

Re: Hotels in Ca
Sureproducts Insurance Agency is a GA for State National. Their phone number is 831-646-6966. Ask for Ernie Weilenmann. Also, although Sequoia was sold to Amtrust, we received a letter that there is no change in underwriting. So they should still have their program also.

Re: Paperless Environment
I completely agree with Island Girl. We started going paperless 6 years ago. The first year was a royal pain with the initial scanning but it was well worth it. We cut our postage costs by over 90% and our paper usage by 95%. In addition, we got rid of dozens of file cabinets. The only files we stil...

Re: Farmers vs. Independent
I wish the Health Insurance was that low. For my wife and I, on a high deductible plan, we have the priviledge of paying $1,700 a month. That went up $700 a month on 1-1. Some of that is due to an age bracket change, but the rest is due to an aging agency force who overuses the plan. In terms of goi...

Re: Farmers Changes Hiring Policies Re: Bankrupcy
Even if they have, I would not advise anybody going with them at this time. This comes from a person with 22 years of high achievement with Farmers. I hear they are losing about 80-90% of their career agents right now due to really tough pricing. It doesn't matter how much training you get if your r...

Possibly Applied Underwriters but they will want their payroll also. Another option along those lines would be their payroll company.

Re: Non-profit
You mentioned that you suggested UM yet you did not mention that they had vehicles. I just wanted that clarified. I would look at Umbrella coverage and some type of trip interruption coverage along with possibly accident coverage. If they send people out of the country, you may need some type of rep...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?
15 Years ago, we were sued by an ex-client who said that we had not told her she was out of force and got into an accident 6 months later. After a year of wrangling, we settled with them paying us $500 for our troubles with the caveat that the Judge threatened the other attorney with sanctions if th...

In this hardening market, I think your only option may be State Fund. Even if he had prior experience, I think that State Fund would be the only option due to his size.
