Re: Compensation Ideas: Unique Situation; Inside Producer, Supplied Leads w/Benefits
I worked for an agency of similar make up for 25 years. Our producers did not own the business they wrote, it belonged to the agency. On occasion they were permitted to bring in business that they did own that was not a part of the agency program. They did travel and have expense reimbursements. I c...

Re: Property and Casualty Exam Tips
Many states use multiple choice questions. Read each question and the answer options, then read it again. As mentioned above, carefully examine the answers for the BEST answer. Many times you will find some questions that are set up to pick the WRONG answer... those are rewards as it gives you 2 or ...

Re: Insured to replacment cost or use extended endorsment

Either of those works, but also put it in the hazards (class code & rate) section with Addl Ins BF so if they see it on the rating portion it gets included.

Re: Should An Agency Specialize or have a Niche?
I spent 25 years working in an agency that was primarily a niche market specializing in one area. However, we also made it a practice to write all of a client's exposures, personal, primary business, benefits, and any secondary risks such as investment properties or other ventures. When there was a ...

He may have a deductible that is more than the damage to the customer's vehicle. Or... no coverage at all or an excluded driver. GKLL does require negligence on the part of the shop... which this would seem to be.

Re: Do you recommend bonds or crime insurance?
I would say that in many cases there is coverage through a crime policy or endorsement providing employee dishonesty on the victim's package policy or bop. I know in the claims I've seen, it was rarely publicized that there was insurance, and the repayment provisions were to reimburse the insurance ...

One option is to use the information provided on the CA Dept of Insurance site. http://www.insurance.ca.gov/0100-consumers/0040-studies-reports/0020-complaint-study/ Often the Travelers, Kemper, etc will have a better rating than the direct writing carriers. Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency
Credit Scoring is not allowed in CA. Besides throwing the whole insurance industry in to a tizzy, Prop 103 at least put the rating values used by insurance companies on an equal footing. It designates the method and order of application in use of the primary and secondary rating factors. At least th...

Re: What would you like to see in the Forums?
Not sure if your Forums system can support this, but for Hard To Place, a form driven input box requesting type of business, state, line, and reasons risk is hard to place, might help draw some faster responses. Some posters don't indicate state or line of business, others have no clue as to the rat...
