Re: She gave me proof of insurance, but I am NOT insured...?

First of all, glad nobody was hurt in the accident. This sounds like it is going to have to be covered under the agent's errors and Omissions policy, since "she forgot to run your payment". I don't know what company she placed you with, but I would be surprised if they paid the claim. They...

Re: CSR service desk volume

thanks for the kind words. I would guess it would depend also on the type of accounts that you are handling. I have mostly only done small to medium commercial with my personal lines. If you are handling exclusively large commercial accounts, then the game would change. I have done this for so long,...

Re: CSR service desk volume

IN my humble opinion, after having done the "csr" thing for 35 years, one person could handle that volume of business. Of course, that would require that they have knowledge of both commercial and personal lines. I have an ACSR in both and handle 95% of the csr work in my office, including...

You might also try your local association of insurance professionals. Most of the time, at meetings, free CE will be offered. look at http://www.internationalinsuranceprofessionals.org/? website for more information.

Re: Do I need to schedule fine arts?

Well as a personal lines manager, the biggest reason I give clients to schedule fine arts is that it takes away a deductible. In texas, with most companies only writing 1% deductibles, that can be quite substantial. That and making sure that you have enough personal property coverage for everything ...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

If you issue a Certificate of Insurance it is no more than information that insurance is in effect as shown on the Cert and for the time shown. Most insurers these days do not require that you send them copies of those Certs. That increases your obligation, legally or not. Concurrently, because you...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

"Policyholders ARE notified about lapsing policies. The insurer notifies them - often more than once. It is not the responsibility of an agent to give them ANOTHER notification via a phone call or any other method. Does anyone call from the electric company every month you don't pay your bill, ...

Re: Track Your CSR's Daily Sales Activity

"IF THE CSR IS DOING THEIR JOB THEY WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO WRITE DOWN EVER PHONE CALL." I have to comment on this statement, with a contradictory, if a CSR is doing their job well, they WILL write down every phone call. That is not to say that they have time to physically write down every p...

Re: Agent no legal duty to inform on cancellations?

In Texas, at every E&O course I have attended, this is mentioned. The advise we are given is that you must do for all what you do for one. So, if you notify customers that the policy is in cancellation or cancelled, you must make sure that you notify everyone of your customers of the same thing....

Re: Symbol 31 on an Hyuandi

One of the reasons is the damageability factor of the vehicle...more pricey to repair, more likely to be totalled in an accident. The cost new and features are just one of the factors that go into the symbol. Loss experience is also factored in.

Re: LBPS, Seterus, QBE, IBM-LBPS

While I have not had this problem with them for any commercial policies, I do constantly have issues with them on personal lines policies. I have one client in particular, that I must sent multiple copies of EPI's to verify coverage, even though they are sent at the beginning of each policy term. Al...

Re: Best designation for CSR?

I would go for the ACSR with IIAT. Not sure what area you are in, but you might also look into joining a local NAIW group. They have scholarships available for members that could help you with getting this education.
