Speed Dating/Match-Making Service
I have a client who runs a Speed-Dating business on the side. I am having a tough time finding a solution who is open to quoting. Obviously, this is going to be E&S. I've gotten a few "we will get back to you's"... so I figured I would reach out here. I am looking for a GL/E&O solu...
Re: Loss Runs
It depends what information I can find on who I notify. I represent most of the major carriers in our area, so odds are I have the information to order Loss Runs from the carrier directly without bringing their agent into the fold. But if I cannot find the carriers Loss Runs Request department and I...
Re: Loss Runs
I have used "My Loss Runs" at a former agency. I'm sure you are familiar with their system, where they generate the LR Request for you along with address and fax number to send to the carrier. While I felt this was a good option, I decided not to pay the charge and I find the information m...

Re: WC for Companies with 0 Employees
Thanks for the responses everyone. Here is what I did: I spoke to the compliance department at the State Worker's Insurance Fund and they told me that the officers of an LLC were not eligiable to elect to be covered under worker's compensation. But they can write a policy basically covering an addit...

WC for Companies with 0 Employees
I have been running into this more and more often in PA where a person has been let go from his or her job but hired back as a consultant and has to carry their own GL and WC insurance. But becasue there are not any employees, my carriers will not offer a workers comp policy just to satisfy certific...

Re: "Pay As You Go" Work Comp
Thank you for the responses everyone. From the research I have done, the "pay as you go" method isn't very new, but not many agents are selling it. Are they scared of change? Do they not want to do the extra work? I do have Hartfordas and learning more about the XactPAY mode they have if a...

Re: Delivery of Insureds Policy
I guess it would be worth a phone call, and you may be hear that you aren't the first to call about it either and express your frustration with it. It's amazing how shortly lived some of these policies can be. And if they do not budge, have you reached out to your clients to ask them if they would l...

"Pay As You Go" Work Comp
I hope everyone is enjoying some 3rd quarter success! I wanted to ask for feedback regarding some carriers' new "Pay As You Go" Work Comp products. I work in the small business department of our agency and have been apporached by at least 2 carriers who have two different products that are...

Re: Modern Proposals
We use Vision for our AMS and it does have a proposal function. But typically I do not enter the coverage information in there until the policy is issued. And even then, coverages are downloaded in from carrier.

Modern Proposals
Hi everyone, I wanted to ask for some agent's opinions on the style of proposal you are using for Small Commercial. I'd classify Small Commercial as total premium size between $5,000 - $25,000. Are you using the carrier's proposals? I have heard of some agents purchasing "proposal software"...
