Re: FSC Pipeline anyone?

Just a note to plug the team that is behind the product as well. Both Paul Arrida (Ex-Applied) and Norma Fields (Ex-AMS/Vertafore) have come together to get this product to market. Those of you on the west coast who have dealt with them on your management system decisions know they are quality indiv...

Re: How hard does your agency push umbrella coverage?

As an insurance customer, I have never felt that my agent did a "hard sell" on Umbrella coverage. I have felt that it is a coverage I probably would NOT have without my Independent agent explaining its need. On a side note since you mentioned Voicemails, I am on the phone to MANY agents in...

Re: Commercial rater

Wow ... that's so funny viewing the www.amsrackley.com carrier client link. It's obvious from the appearance of the page that it is an orphaned sub-page that was never taken down! How long has it been since Palmer and Cay went out? Six years? NIce to see a non-Vertafore branded page though. :)

Re: Agency Management System

Hi, I am attending the National Instar Users Group today and put the question to an agent. They are running Windows 7 with their Instar system and say it works very well. The Instar product manager is at the meeting as well and have forwarded the posting to her to give an official answer. It could b...

Re: Agency Management System

<stepping away from the mhutch69 war of words> ... Porter, they're gone because XD let them go. Word was that they were going to go after mega-brokers and get out of the retail market (which has not been kind to them). They have a good product but the barriers to entry for vendors beyond THE BIG TWO...

Re: Agency Management System

Porter,

I guess I'm surprised that they are pursuing you. I know their retail sales staff is pretty much gone. I agree with the other poster about Instar. It is not an "online" system but there are folks who will host it for you.

Re: One step closer.. going COMPLETELY paperless in 2010..

Questions - Are you able to manage your document retention? If you have a document that Best Practices says you should keep for 5 or 7 years is there a way that it can be purged? I have heard that some agency systems cannot do this. Are you maintaining both paper and electronic copies of what you ha...

Re: One step closer.. going COMPLETELY paperless in 2010..

Uni, what did you find unsuitable about the Bamboo? What specifically are you signing with the pad? Do you use your agency management system to sign binders / certs, etc? Are you storing only the signed version in document management? Any pushback from any carriers that the signature is not a wet on...

Re: Agency Management System for a Commercial Agency

Another workaround would be to print the documents to PDFFactory. As long as PDFF is open, it will combine all documents sent to it into a single saveable PDF file.

Seems unimaginable that there is not an option for this to create a single file. What were they thinking?

Re: Career Change to Life Insurance from P&C Commercial

I like Scott's suggestion - most agents I know would not sell a life policy if their own depended on it. I enjoy working with ex-direct writers who are expected to include this in their mix of sales. Great job with the success you've had! Every sales manager I've worked for always says to the next g...

Re: Agency Management System

I attend a lot of shows and have heard very good things from their customers. Customer service seems to be one of their better attributes. In the bigger picture, there are limitations around a system / company built around an individual ... just as there are with agencies. History shows that most of...

Re: Agency Management System

A few questions: 1) Are you and your staff willing to put up with keystroke lag and slower response than an inhouse system? 2) Are you now or do you plan to use document management? 3) Does your agency have remote offices? 4) What is your internet connection like? 5) Are you willing to pay considera...
