Looking for stats on claims
Hi all, and Happy New Year! Hope it's off to a great start for everyone. I am developing a class for agents to help them learn more about E&O risks. I have a number of topic areas to work with, one of which is where claims originate. In that regard, I'm looking for claims stats that would tell m...

Re: Claims Made, Claims Made & Reported, and Occurrence
Thanks. I understand there's a definite difference between Claims Made and Occurrence. I also see I should have been more specific in my query. I was referring to the " Pure Claims Made " definition of a Claims Made policy. The standard term tossed around is is the generic "Claims Mad...

Claims Made, Claims Made & Reported, and Occurrence
I'm trying to learn more about professional liability insurance and came across some terms regarding coverage triggers that seem identical to me, but I'm just not 100% sure because I see them used in different definitions and explanations. Looking for some help clarifying. Thanks. - Claims Made - Cl...

Re: Looking for specific quoting software
Just some additional info that I came across. Some examples of what I'm looking for include EZ Lynx, Semcat, etc.
Also, would really like to know opinions, pros, cons, etc. from anyone using this type of program.
Thanks.

Looking for specific quoting software
I'm researching quoting software that could be used to allow an agent to enter quote information through one site program and get the company quotes back. The end result is the ability of the agent to enterr information one time and get quotes back from multiple companies. The alternative would be p...

Thanks for your views. For the record, I have not said anything and do not plan to. I was only curious as to the views others might have on the subject. I wouldn't change my position on the matter unless I had some incredibly overwhelming reason to do so. I don't see that happening. I do think it's ...

An ethics question
I work in an independent agency. I am leaving to go to a completely different job out of state. The owner of the agency has told me he wants a list of all accounts I placed with a certain broker. He doesn't like the broker and wants to move everything. He had one disagreement over a submission and e...

Seeking career change advice
I am considering leaving the small agency I am with to go to a larger firm with a more specialized focus. I currently do many lines of insurance (Life, Health, P&C, etc.). The agency is run by nice people and there are no real problems, but I feel I am ready for a change and need to consider ver...

Insurance recruiting firms - worth it or not?
I have been in the biz 5 years now as a producer and like it but want to try something different. My passion is on the management side but would like to experience U/W also. Has anyone worked with any of the recruiting firms out there? Any of them any good? If I wanted to pursue the U/W side what wo...

Re: Non-resident selling in Florida.
If you get ASI (american strategic insurance) and Citizens Property Insurance Corp. the state backed insurance you will make many sales. I worked for a company selling in Florida from California two years ago. I presently have my own office in California and sell home and auto insurance in Californ...

Re: FL Homeowners
I am looking to write some Home business in FL as a non-resident. Is this possible? What carriers should I/can I get? Thanks. Yes it's possible but I won't say what companies you can use or what companies you should use. Do your due dilligence. That aside, where in FL? And where are you located (at...

I wear business attire each day unless I'm working indoors and NO scheduled appointments (maybe one day a week). We work strictly off referrals and no walk-in business, so I'm not concerned with unannounced visitors. I dress professionally, and not up or down acccording to who I'm going to meet. Yo...

Buying an existing insurance agency
I am fairly new to the biz with almost 5 years on the retail sales side. My background is pretty strong in management and have my degree in that discipline. I have life, health, VA and P&C licenses. Lots of time on the P&C side, with some pretty good exposure to health (individual and group)...
