Re: CertsNow 24/7 or CSR24
It seems to me that most insureds expect at least basic services from the agency. I don't think very many insureds would be thrilled if they had to "do it themsleves" when it came to things like certs. Smaller accounts might be a good segment with which to encourage this kind of product/po...

Re: AZ Home "Flipper" Insurance Coverage Needed
I know your post is almost a month old but you should work with the folks at www.statewide-insurance.com They have a program, on admitted paper, that addresses your exact needs. I've used them here in Las Vegas and they're very quick and easy to work with. You can schedule an unlimited number of dwe...

Are Insurance Agents Employees or Independent Contractors?
Our agency has always treated its sales agents as 1099 Independent Contractors. The owner, however, has always said that if the IRS were to audit they might disallow this practice based on the agent contract that states the agent will only write business with our agency. A CPA recently brought to ou...

Inland Marine Fraud
Our agency recently wrote an Inland Marine policy for a business that needed coverage for about $230K worth of equipment financed by a large finance company. 10 days after inception a man comes to the office with the policy in hand and says that he never requested this policy. It ends up that someon...

Re: Carrier Login credentials & agency staff
Great suggestions, thanks! I wonder how common it is in agencies where only certain level staff members are permitted to actually log in to a carrier site to transact business? Training every staff member for every carrier's site can be difficult.

Carrier Login credentials & agency staff
Most of our business is with 8-10 P/C companies. Most companies require separate producer codes for each branch location. The challenge we're having is managing login credentials for the different carriers/producer codes. It seems like every day someone is asking for a password that recently was cha...

Re: Certificate Poll
Wow, that's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. I actually hope to find such errors with a new prospect because it really gives me an opportunity to explain how the error puts the business at risk. I earned my CIC in 2009 and am currently working on my CRM. I attribute so much of what I practice no...

Re: Certificate Poll
@lauren I agree with everything in your comment and am especially anal about making sure everything I include on a cert is backed by the policy. Occasionally, however, I have a prospect that gives me a cert made by their current agent that includes unsupported wording. Many times I discover this aft...

Certificate Poll
Have you ever issued an Acord 25, or its equivalent, for an insured and included AI or other wording when you know the policy doesn't support it? Far too often I am asked to provide outrageous wording on certs that names every party and their mother as an AI. I know a lot has been written about this...

Re: Agency Management System
@Socalagent77 We have appreciated the fact that Quomation has been willing to implement some of our ideas into PowerManage. My last phone call with them revealed that a lot of the features we would like are slated for 18+ months out. That was discouraging. We recently visited an agency that is using...

Re: Agency Management System
Our agency has been using Quomation products for 7+ years. We have 6 offices with 3-4 agents in each, 85/15 PL/CL. Their products have been sufficient so far but we feel that the management system is lacking in so many ways. 1. It doesn't encourage any specific work flow, i.e. Activities in TAM or A...
