Re: Trusted Choice
Jam, are you serious? What prompted you to "play around" on this insurance magazine's web site? You have clearly demonstrated your complete lack of knowledge of this industry and it is obvious you should go mess around in another industry. Seriously, you must have a bunch of free time... ...

CIC Designation
I have been thinking about taking the CIC courses for a while. I need some advice on how to prepare for the classes. How much studying does one need to do ahead of going to the class?
Are the books sold by them cover the material properly?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: looking for new high value homeowners programs
I hear Allied has great rates, Ive written a few with ACE and the price is great and they package is very nice. One of the features they have is each year you go without a claim your ded is reduced by 10%. also, they waive the ded for claims over 50k. If you package it with auto, umbrella, and valua...

Re: Best Personal lines rates in CA
I'm an agent in Southern California and have all the best appointments. If you already have Travelers, Safeco, and MetLife I would add Mercury. Their rates are good with preferred and non-standard risks. Allied is good also but they are always wanting more and more production. Ps. I have been an ag...

Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency
Years of driving experience (age), driving record and the garbage about being a Prop 103 Well I guess I'm not as experiences as you. But I do know that All of the above factors do count in Insurance rating. Mercury is one of the top 3-5 auto insurers in CA. based upon premium for a reason. The migh...

Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency
Why was Mercury the almost sole backer? As with every question, follow the money. They are so competitive that they regularly eat the direct writers' & captives' lunches when given the opportunity to compete with them square up for their best clients. They did for years until they were forced t...

Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency
Persistency discounts are generally small discounts. (3-6%). On the other hand if you did not have Insurance you could get hit with a 20% surcharge. I did not have insurance when I was in college and rode my bike. What if you did not own a car for a while? The real question is why was Mercury the on...

Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency
Smart Guy, thanks for the spelling lesson. I often type way to fast. As far as this issue is concerned and to the best of my knowledge Mercury was the only Co. backing this legislation. That is proof enough for me to have voted against it. As the campaign for Proposition 17 kicked off, Mercury Insur...

Re: restaurant with entertainment CA
well this is not a club or bar and there is no dance floor. Its an average family joint that has a dinner and magic show for kids two nights a week. All standard carriers should take this. I think the GA people are the idiots.
