Re: Comp in Ca

Appalachian UW will write a B Contractor with a lapse of less than 6 months
through either National Liability & Fire or Mid-West Employers.

Other than that SCIF would be the only other option afaik.

Good luck!

Re: Real Housewives of Miami "star" suing insurance agent

Wouldn't BI just kick in since he was the passenger; therefore considered a 3rd party? Perhaps the driver's limits were too low. I believe FL requires $10k personal injury protection so that's nothing, especially if more than 1 person was injured.

Re: SCIF (California) - need your advice/opinions

Hi PB, Dealing with SCIF is pretty tedious, especially with all the recent changes and layoffs. They changed many of their internal procedures that have affected brokers. The quote turn around time can take any where from 1-3 weeks, depending on which service center is handling the application. We u...

You can try First Comp-Markel if they have less than 20k payroll. If over 20k Tower has some decent rates for 9008 new venture guys.

Artisan Contractor w/ Res Comp Ops (CA)

Hello All, Are any of you aware of what carriers write CA Artisan Contractors w/ Residential Completed Ops (1185 or equiv). Most carriers I work with only issue completed ops endorsements on commercial jobs. Tract home coverage is also needed. Admitted or E&S is fine. AFAIK, Benchmark issues Res...

Re: Need comp in Ca for structural steel contractor

I believe Companion and/or Castlepoint might entertain this risk with a lapse.
If not, it'll more than likely need to get SCIF'd.

Commercial Auto in CA

I'm looking for a commercial auto market in CA with competetive rates. Currently with Infinity and their rates seem pretty high. 40 veh/40 drivers.
I appreciate your suggestions.
