Producer Compensation-Florida
When a producer brings in an account on an AOR, what is the typical compensation for when the account renews. Is it the same as new biz, or is it considered renewal and therefore the compensation % is less?

Re: Looking to open my own agency
You didn't say what state you're in and type of insurance, Personal or commercial. I can tell you it's really hard to get direct appointment with homeowners/auto carriers in florida. if its commercial, its easier to get appointed with a wholesaler and there are many that have a really great competit...

Re: Can you get different rates for same insurer?
I agree. Your relationship with the underwriter will influence the rate as well as your agencies volume with that particular carrier. If you are a high volume agency with them, you will get the best rates. I have had instances where I have gotten 2 different quotes with the same carrier thru 2 diffe...

Re: Misleading Advertising
The reason I get upset at this type of advertising is that there are people out there who beleive that they can get $9 insurance and they want you the agent to match and feel that you, the legit agent is trying to rip them off when you try to tell them there is no such thing. Here in florida, Person...

Policies written through E&S markets--Florida
I am curious to find out if there is a specific rule against putting my agency's information over that of the E&S broker that the policy is written through. So instead of the E&S broker's name shown as agent on the policy, I put my agency's label over that of the E&S broker. Let me now i...
