single security guard worker's comp

I have a laundromat owner that wants to hire his own security guard, he currently has a security guard hired through a security guard firm but wants to hire him on his own. Is that possible, will anyone offer worker's comp on a single security guard?

Re: Insurance rating software

I agree with the last two post, we need more choices in California, it seems FSC knows they have a grip on the California market so they can charge a premium. We need more competition, it seems like Quomation is headed in the right direction but it's not quite there yet. I think we especially need a...

Selling life insurance with no experience

I recently passed the life and health exam and I'm not sure which direction to go. I've been running a P&C agency for about 6 years now, we mostly sell non-standard auto insurance. I want to start selling life insurance but I'm not sure if should go with a wholesale broker or a captive company (...

franchising additional offices

I currently own a P&C agency and have two locations. We mostly write standard auto policies but I do have a couple of preferred carriers. I have a friend and former co-worker who's interested in opening an additional office under my license, he would pay for the up front cost to get the office s...

Agency owners, what program to handle commission splits

I currently pay employees on salary plus percentage of broker fees. I'd like to start paying on percentage of the commission as well and I figured an agency management system would be able to download the detailed commissions and do this for me, but after looking into my first agency system, it look...

Re: Mercury broker appointment

I would love to get an agency appointment, but from my understanding it is much harder then a broker appointment. Is it pretty easy to switch over to an agency appointment?

Mercury broker appointment

anybody familiar with the Mercury broker appointment, it states no advertising and one year agreement. Seems odd that they wouldn't allow you to even put a sign in your store.

Re: Postcard mailers

OK so pretty much unless your in the middle of nowhere, most likely the old fashion way doesn't work anymore. I can agree with some of that, but what else is there. Unless your willing to spend big bucks on online advertising then you'll just end up on the 20th page on google.

Re: Postcard mailers

I would love to target the preferred market but I don't have any preferred carriers to place them with. I could use a superior access but its not your book of business and getting a quote takes 24 hours. What I mean by postcard mailers is sending out postcards to random people in a targeted area. Ri...

Postcard mailers

Wanted to get some thoughts on the effectiveness of postcard mailers, specifically for non-standard auto. Has any one tried it and would you recommend it.

hey thanks for the replys, yea after giving it some thought, selling something that doesn't compliment insurance is going to look pretty tacky. Mortgage brokers or something along that line would probably be my best bet. Thanks again.
