Re: Insurance agencies for sale ?

I highly suggest you look for an independent insurance agency with a good history to purchase. There are very few, if any, franchise retail insurance agencies other than potentially the captive carriers that may make any financial sense. The other available franchise operations for sale are NOTHING ...

Re: Diminishing Role of the Agent for P&C Insurance

Auto is being QUOTED AND SHOPPED online but NOT purchased without agent involvement in over 80% of cases based upon recent surveys. We might be able to shop online and purchase insurance as we hold licenses and are qualfied to advise others on the purchase but most insurance buyers are utilizing an ...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures

Mica, Again, you cite the pricing changes for captives versus independents but you fail to cite the growth or lack thereof between independents and the large direct writers? I would venture to guess that independents lost ground in most lines of business due to the multiple options for quoting and p...

Re: How can a new agent obtain appointments?

Mercury will NEVER appoint you. So forget them. Stay with MGA's and contact Monarch and others for commercial. As stated above, it takes time to build a successful business in insurance or any other line of work. So, good luck and plan on working long hours. that is what we all did and still mostly ...

Re: Anyone with opinion on EZBuy electronic signatures

Mica cooper, Are you kidding? iF YOU ONLY obtain business by first requiring a "wet" signature, what difference would that make? Mr. Firebug will still look at you and then go burn his house down. unless you do not bind coverage until you obtain photos of the home you are insuring first, r...

Re: Advice on purchasing a small agency in California

I agree with many of the above posts. You need to analyze exactly what the agency consists of with respects to the book of business and policies in force. The commercial versus personal, the commission rates etc. If you own an agency, you should compare the markets the book is with versus your marke...

Re: Trusted Choice

Hey Jackmeoff, I clearly stated that JAM has continuously criticized spelling and other ridiculous comments and it appears has not obtained his insurance license as of yet. If you do not know Trusted Choice, do you also need explanations of coverages or auto? This blog should require an insurance li...

Re: Trusted Choice

Jam, are you serious? What prompted you to "play around" on this insurance magazine's web site? You have clearly demonstrated your complete lack of knowledge of this industry and it is obvious you should go mess around in another industry. Seriously, you must have a bunch of free time... r...

Re: CA Prop.17 - Portable Persistency

Jam and other first year insurance "agents", If you believe Prop 17 failing was a good thing, this clearly shows your lack of experience in this business. Transfer, prior insurance, (and since the lawyer written Prop 103) "persistency" discounts have historically been proven to b...

MICA, I AM following the law. The Arizona Constitution, which supersedes all legislative efforts passed subsequent, RULES. Therefore, I am FULLY following the law by requiring the service by a peace officer OR process server. Again, I HAVE been served at my home and fully PAID that ticket. It requir...

Re: Arizona Photo Radar Tickets

Colejustin, You are one of the few that paid to go to traffic school. The Arizona Constitution requires the service of the violation by as peace officer or process server. If neither of those two occurred, you just provided payment unnecessarily. Excuse me for not being ignorant of the law and since...
