Re: Online Insurance and Leads
Steve makes some very good points. Your system to responding to the leads is critical. I have tried purchasing leads two separate times. The first time I was not prepared. I was somewhat new to personal lines, I didn't have a comparative rater, auto responders, great market access, etc. The hit rati...

Re: Astonishing results: Agency online marketing
I checked out the link and it looks like the discussion is over a year old and doesn't offer any more insight than your vague complaints. I would not pay $2500+ per month for this service either. The last time I talked to AR they had a new product geared twords smaller agencies or those with smaller...

Re: Astonishing results: Agency online marketing
You got me... I joined IJ four years and 200 posts ago anticipating this day:) If you are a customer that has used the product and is unhappy... please tell those of us that are considering using the product why. How did the product fall short? An honest product review would be much more helpful for...

Re: Astonishing results: Agency online marketing
michga11, It sounds like you have a personal problem with this company... have you worked with/for them before? I don't have a dog in the fight as I am not their customer... but you come off like a bitter ex employee or somebody else with an ax to grind. Not sure what types of acounts you write but ...

Re: Astonishing results: Agency online marketing
michga11... while every agency should be doing the things that Astonish Results offers... my guess is that the number of agencies that have an automated drip marketing, cross sell, referral and new business marketing program with a way to track results... is a small percentage. I would be shocked if...

Re: Doing Business with SIG's and PEO's in CA
It all comes down to picking good business partners. There are succesful and well run SIG's and PEO's (CCN and BBSI are examples) but if you play with snakes like the guys that were running CRM, you will probably be bitten at some point. Many of us held our nose and worked with them because they off...

Re: CIBA Insurance purchasing group...Help
This thread started in 2006 and maybe some of the complaints were valid at that time... but as of today CIBA has a good program. They have made adjustments over the years to make it more user friendly with expanded coverage (not sharing limits on the primary layers, per location limits, no more comm...

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure
I agree that it is best to keep it simple... but not every producer or situation is the same. Some require more (support, leads, coaching, clean up etc) and some require less. You are not going to pay a green producer that needs lots of handholding and backoffice support the same that you are going ...

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure
I was referring to a $400K in terms of commission. A $400K premium book would not be worth the hassle if you are paying 70%.

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure
I understand your point of view and have discussed it with my CPA and business Atty... but he has another $250k or so in life and group health business placed directly through MGA's that I am not paid on.

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure
It really depends on what the agency provides and the amount of hand holding required. I have a 1099 producer with a $400k book of property business with preferred carriers that almost no maintenance. He sells and services his own accounts and his accounting is accurate. He is a great agent that tak...
