Re: Medical malpractice for all states
A word of caution - avoid RRG's or any low or unrated (by A.M. Best) carriers, as many hospital systems have specific minimuim requirements.

Re: Question regarding my universal life insurance policy !
It may be that the carrier is headed towards liquidation, but knowing who the carrier is will help to better answer that question. Once known, better advice as to what direction you should pursue can be provided. Universal Life policies were sold with a whole bunch of promises that many agents knew ...

Re: Standard Non-Compete
Most non-compete agreements in California don't hold water. You might want to check with legal council first on both the validity and enforceability of a no-compete.

There's this site called Monster.com - ya might want to check it out. You also might want to check with the CA DOI on licensing requirements and if there's any transferability.

Re: Insuring an LP consisting of several other entities
If this a true LP - Limited Partnership, then based on what you describe, Company B would be the General Partner and Company C would be a Limited Partner. With LP's, the General Partner has all responsibility for managing the LP, and any limited partners only have financial responsibility. The named...

Re: WC account Losses 189 X-mod hard class codes
For that high of an xmod, there are safety issues that your insured isn't addressing. At this point, they're going to need to be proactive. Your insured is also most likely looking at being surcharged. There may be carriers willing to entertain the account, but they'll loss control the heck out of i...

Re: Will old CPCU books work for the new CPCU exams?
If you were in college, would you use older edition textbooks to study with? Probably not. The books from 2009 might....emphasis MIGHT still be relevant, but the ones from 2000 and 2006 aren't. The AICPCU regularly updates their material. If you want to take the chance - go ahead. Me - I'd use the m...

Re: Management Liability
Your client should also be discussing this with their legal counsel. If hey had a non-compete (which in most states wouldn't hold up in court) that expired over three years ago, then their former employer would have no legal grounds to stand on (unless they took "trade secrets").

Re: Dave Ramsey
Are you referring to any of his specific comments on insurance, or????
FWIW, he's highly regarded with respects to his counsel on personal financial matters.

Re: ARM
The ARM is actually a very useful insurance designation/certification. Having this could open the door to work on the "client side" as a risk manager It's probably more recognized than the CRM/FRM/etc.

Re: Track Your CSR's Daily Sales Activity
I worked for a major national brokerage that did this for a while. We spent more time filling out this activity log than we did actually servicing accounts. Several key AE's and AM's left because of this micro-management.

Re: Unfair Competition amongst brokers
Wow...that's a pretty desperate move on their part. If they're on a public sidewalk/public property, and not accosting or intimidating anyone, there's probably little you can do. If they threaten anyone, especially your staff, that's a different issue. Maybe make a video of their measures and post i...
