Re: umbrella underlying limits

It's not maybe that the agent allowed it to be written with no underlying GL, what do you do if the client lets the GL lapse during the policy term, and doesn't tell you? AND - as a wholesaler, I don't normally write the underlying GL policies, so I am dependent on my retailers to advise if the unde...

Re: GA's binding responsibility

Not to take the GA's side, since I am one....but the part that made me curious was the GA wanting the downpayment prior to binding. Is it possible the insured has some prior payment issues, and that is holding up the process? Other than that, I can think of no reason why a binder would take my offic...

Re: Social Media

I think if you are a retail products or service company and post some coupons or specials on your wall, it's worthwhile. Otherwise, it's not anything that I would find particularly useful as a marketing too. I have hundreds of friends, and while I 'like' business pages, I often hide them because the...

Re: restaurant with entertainment CA

Sorry you are having such a tough time with your current MGA, but if the risk is in a preferred market now, why would you look to the E&S market for coverage? Our role is not to compete with the preferred markets, but to write the business the preferred markets won't write -- Invasive Medical Pr...

Re: Auto Liability basics

I think the sticky point here is the borrowed vehicle was not insured, which means your client's policy is now primary, and that's not the intent. I agree with a post above, though, if they are denying coverage, they must specifiy where in the policy they find the exclusion. You, on the other hand, ...

Re: DF quote for SM Carrier needed!

I don't understand-- you rail on one poster about Hard to place posts, then you ask Monica to give you a price that is close to the $600 you already have? There's not alot of room in a $600 premium, is there some other reason you are looking for other markets on this risk? Do you have the $600 quote...

Re: Where is Evon Rios?

alot of people used to work at Yates and now they don't...good luck in your search, I have not heard that name pop up anywhere.

However, there should stil be someone at Yates to handle that business, have you tried calling the offices and see what is happening with your renewal?

Re: Investor Buying and Flipping Homes(GL)

I write a lot of these, on a monthly reporting form. Here's the thing --- you are not going to get the Prod/Comp Ops for your owner. If he has work done on the homes while he owns them, my policy warrants that he hires a licensed GC who names my client as an additional insured. if your client is doi...

Re: Farmers Insurance

I hear this complaint alot from my Farmers agents and I tell them that it's up to them to learn the business. Take home the forms, read them, learn them. Take CPCU classes. Ask your underwriters coverage questions. The knowledge is there, and yes, Farmers is not so great about training, but all that...

Re: CGL Policy for Janitors who cleans hospitals..

This is a tough class because of the slip and fall potentially being so much more costly. If you are stuck on only considering Admitted markets, I cannot help you. I would suspect we would have markets on the Excess & Surplus lines side who would write this, though. Somnething I always ask -- is...

Re: Surplus Broker Theft

Requesting a Binder that is from the Company and not the wholesaler is no evidence that the premium was paid, the binders are produced immediately, and the carrier typically is not expecting payment for 30 days. I am a wholesale broker, and probably 90% of my policies are financed, so that sort of f...
