Re: Arizona broker fees

As a general rule unless there is specific regulation prohibiting or limiting fees on surplus lines there is "freedom of rate and form" and this would include the charging of fees. The only states that regulate the charging of fees on surplus lines are FL, NJ and MI.

Re: Unfair Competition amongst brokers

Take a more professional route. Contact their insurance carriers and ask if they find this business practice acceptable. Let them put pressure on the other agency to discontinue this business practice.

Re: Personal Articles Floater-Midwest

You are trying to find someone who has a minimum premium below $250? I can't see where it would cost effective to do that for a carrier. Good luck. Not sure I would spend too much time since your max commision will be around $25.

Re: E&O Coverage

Can I ask the need to go direct? Are you looking to get commission on your own E&O? Not wise. You are then acting as both the insured and the agent on the placement. If the placement gets screwed up their is no one to sue. Much like a lawyer would not represent themselves in court. For the few d...

Re: Restaurant with large fire claim

I might be able to help. Send a submission to kennethkukral@intlxs.com Would need to know details on the claim including what has been done to prevent future claims and if the damage has all been repaired. Include a restaurant supplemental application and loss runs.

Re: Management Liability

Jam, The reason you can get a straight answer is because whether a claim would be covered by a D&O policy depends on what is "alledged". Keep in mind that D&O is "decision makers E&O". So if they make a corporate decision to go after a group of clients they "migh...

Re: Child Safety Alarm (MO)

Hotcoffee, It is possible.... but I need to know more about the process you are going through. You are saying you need to raise money to build a prototype? If that is the case, you are best to borrow from friends and family and get the prototype built. You don't need products liability in the testin...
