Re: SIAA vs. Cluster?

I was told by one of my carriers that if I signed a cluster agreement, they would yank my contract. If you can not get direct, SIAA is the way.

For E&O, check out Brown & Brown out of California. Firemans Fund was very reasonable.

Re: Farmers Insurance

Saccman, I think you are correct with your assumptions. Its not new news anymore that this is going on and I fully agree with you that the though process on existing long term agents has changed. Its all about reduction of distribution cost. This is the reality of the Farmers World. Go your own way ...

Re: Farmers Insurance

My former office partner is a die hard Farmers Guy in and out. It only takes him 3-4 hours (yes, hours) to run a mortgage change. He has no idea on how a computer system is supposed to work. I spent 18 years with Farmers and seen the CEO only one time. He was no where near approachable. His message ...

Re: Producer Support

When the producer generates enough revenue to pay support staff is when you have the producer hire his/her own support. The producer lays out the guidlines as to expectations for the $$ your going to pay which is of course tied to the revenue they bring in.

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure

Lots of opinions, different ways to do things. One thing I remember from Community College is to keep your sales force happy.

No one seems to complain about a 50/50 split. Have one guy on one scale and another guy on another scale could lead to internal issues among the sales force. So, KISS it.

I am leasing a printer. The printer is constanly breaking down, the scan function in particular. I started asking for this machine be removed from my office about 90 days back. It continued to break down. They want to start charging me for Tech vists. I used Desk Top printers/scanner in the past and...

Re: Independent Agent Sub Producer Commission Structure

I run a 50/50 split of all house commissions with my Producers. In todays economy, there are many people out there willing to give it a try with no base.

Re: Farmers Insurance

My bad taste comes from working 15yrs + and getting to that level of lncome that I would be comfortable at. I put my feet up just to get them kicked off with a large rate hike that came with no warning. Then came the spin game from State office with all the gimick discounts. Now they want 60 quotes ...
