Re: Superior Access vs. Networked Insurance Agents
I'm not sure why anyone would use either of these companies. Every single product that either company offers can be found through wholesalers. And without paying monthly dues. They both cause significant problems with accounting as well.

Re: Agency owners, what program to handle commission splits
I outsource my production to the Paulmar Group. www.paulmargroup.com The cost is very little compared to having someone perform this data entry for me. They manage all production for multiple locations each individual producer. They can even manage all different commission levels for direct bill and...

Healthcare Reform
A touchy subject here! Well as an insurance agent for the last 12 years I have to say that I am ready for something different. My book of business this year has declined almost 34% at one point reaching about $1.2 in premiums sold. Not a whole lot but enough to make a decent profit. Most f not all o...

I currently utilize close to 26 carriers between CA. AZ. NV and Texas to write personal and commercial lines insurance. All of which are direct bill commission type policies. I have to manage chargebacks earned and unearned commission and this traffic is consuming a lot of time. Question: What do mo...

Re: Agency Solvency, is it important?
I will provide a response to Wayne Lunday based on the following: • While Lunday’s comments on cash-flow and retained earnings are correct, none relates to the trust account issues. They do not respond to Ray’s question: how does an agent know to transfer commission to the operating account without ...

Re: Why Would an Agency Retain Trust Account Service?
Actually the reason is that there is no method or software currently being used in the market to account for each policy as they are earned. This is about trust account not Tech Assistant. The systems in todays market lack a profound amount of ability to handle direct bill commission or unearned com...

Re: Agency Solvency, is it important?
What method is being used to "account" for all this in April? How do you seperate your "earned commission" from your retained earnings to show each policy written is solvent? Our firm keep $250,000 of personal funds in our trust account to compensate bad checks and other unexpect...

Agency Solvency, is it important?
If an agency keeps too much money in their trust account they are violating tax code. If they keep too little in the trust account they violate insurance code. How does anyone know how much money and profit they have in their trust account? How do you know how much to move from trust account to oper...

Re: Superior Access
I experienced the same as you with this company and even if they paid me double the commission I wouldn't go back. I was approached by them this year after the sale and I just couldn't see any changes whatsoever. It's not worth the "convenience" if any. You pay in the long run. BTIS is jus...

Commission Pay Scale
Does anyone have any ideas about what going rates are for producers these days? I have been paying 40% for agency bill and 35% renewal. I finally have a rea l system to manage all my direct bill commission for my producers, which has made everyone quite happy. I'm also able to manage each ones produ...

Re: Agency Management System
I found this company here called www.paulmargroup.com and they have this service where you can outsource all of your production and they manage all of it for you. It's sounds crazy but it's absolutely amazing. I had to go through some training on financial management but it was definitely worth it! ...
