Farmers Agents

I am an ex-Farmers agent. In general, Farmers does have a good priduct. I would not, however call it the best. There are a lot of things that they can't offer. As an Insurance Company they are not bad for underwtriting or service. The down-side is that you have to work with their "SALES DEPARTM...

Everyone keeps referring to a customer list as a "trade secret". I am an agency owner, and also law school graduate. A customer list does not meet the definition of trade secret. The following is from Black's Law Dictionary: "trade secret n. a process, method, plan, formula or other ...

Re: changed jobs

I recently changed jobs, went to another Indepent Agency. What I am wondering is if there is anything wrong with contacting clients that I wrote while employed at my old Agency? They are either people that called into the Agency, and I answered the call, or people that came to that specific agency ...

They have a detached structure where he may bring an engine back to rebuild or work on. The value of this detached structur...

Re: NEED TO FIND CGL WITH PRIOR ACTS ENDORSEMENT

I think that the only solution is to put the policy on a Claims Made Form, which is not good for a contractor, and get the underwriter to agree to the prior acts. Then, if you can find a carrier that will agree to the prior acts, you have the propblem of convincing the insured to buy the tail if, as...

Re: Combined Single Limit

Has anyone seen use of the captioned in other than auto policies, e.g. example, excess & umbrella policies? I don't think I understand the question. I believe that 'Captioned" is referring to the Named Insured in the declarations, the described vehicle(s) on a policy, the described premise...

Big Four?

I, too, hope that you do not mean FIG as the ONE of the Big Four that you are appointed with. If it is it is more impotant than with the other three to learn how to spell the word I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E . Farmers does spend a lot of time on training to sell life insurance and prospecting but not nearly e...

I am also not a big fan of Farmers. They care more about the

I,m glad someone had a "superb" DM with Farmers. I consider mine was a District 'Mangler' not Manager. I was appointed by Farmers for 7 years before we decided to part company. This was shortly after they were aquired by British American Tobacco U.S. As an Insurance company they do an adeq...

GENEARAL AGENTS who forget to pay commissions or pay late

I am assuming that you are talking about renewal commissions. The G/A should be sending you copies of there renewal offers and confirmation of renewals. If you have a management system I would post an activity for the customer file to check the next statement from the G/A. Most of the G/A's I work w...
