Re: brightway insurance brokerage in florida
Brightway, Brooke, whatever you call it. YOu are putting your future in someone else's hands. I will take care of MY clients and do not need to spend 45% or even 35% of revenues to properly service them. This is for the captive producers jumping to independent that "think" they need help. ...
Re: Facebook
typical response of most advertising agencies.
"You have to keep paying for a longer period of time to get it to work".
AND, "We can make up the losses with volume" historically worked for general agencies too!

Re: brightway insurance brokerage in florida
MIG1, why not buy an AD? It is obvious you are continuing to justify the high cost of Brightway's service. For the record, I have NEVER even HEARD of Brightway? Have they made it out of Florida yet? NOR am I feeling any competition from whatever it is. I have most every market available as any Brigh...

Re: brightway insurance brokerage in florida
MIG1 obviously works for Brightway. Any "servicing" does not cost 45%. You might as well be a captive with those revenue reductions. All these "aggregators" sound like BROOKE which actually means BROKE. Ask any of these prior Brooke producers who allowed their GROSS revenues to b...
Cindy at FoundersGrp
Cindy, You said the Facebook ads/marketing has brought new clients. Can you be a little more specific? Are you absolutely sure this was the exact source of a new client or are you just attributing any client since the ads were placed assuming Facebook directed them to you? I think D's Insurance Stor...

Re: E&O Coverage
I am speaking of my individual experience with Westport's quote on my multiple agency location E & O back 2 years ago. The quote was DOUBLE several other markets I obtained quotes from. The non-renewal unless membership dues are paid is accurate. The discount MAY pay the IIAB dues, but the initi...

Re: E&O Coverage
So you know, in AZ., to my knowledge, the "Big I" exclusively sells Westport. In my experience, They try to make you believe you are getting a better rate by going with that market. From quotes I received, the rates in AZ. are 2 x's greater than the market for typical P & C agencies. J...

Re: Calling non-pay clients... a good idea or an E&O exposure?
Well, all you amateur legal minds, I finally found a case that supports my position that calling or writing a letter to inform the customer regarding cancellation of the policy does NOT obligate such action on every customer EVERY month and/or expose the agency to ANY error or omission due to such a...

Re: Calling non-pay clients... a good idea or an E&O exposure?
Again, after 30 years of this practice of contacting late payments in primarily non-std. auto insurance, we have never been close to having a problem. I can not tell you the amount of business that would have fallen off the books if we did not practice this retention method. I am fine with testing w...

Re: Calling non-pay clients... a good idea or an E&O exposure?
I have instructed contact with late payment non-standard auto clients for 30 years without incident. Although I can see the potential for E & O exposure, the legal notice of cancellation is required by and satisfies statute. Once issued, the matter of a phone call or not is a hard case to make f...

Re: Mercury broker appointment
Mercury in CA. is a smart move in any format. (agent or broker)
Obviously, depending upon what type of auto you want write, broker fees may not be as important or possible.
But, the best thing I did was obtain an appt. with Mercury in AZ. Great company, great support and great compensation.

Re: Yellow Page ad co's filing suit-anyone experienced this?
Thanks Swymmer, It was a hassle and the lawyer made some money as well. It sure beat paying for the contract balance. All YP ads except for the online versions have just stopped working well enough to pay their actual costs. We post ourselves in a listing position using a DBA under Abacus or others ...

Indie, I will explain exactly why an employee leaving with proprietary internal agency procedures and opening next door is not desired by any employer. After TRAINING the minimum wage or higher employer on how to obtain markets, retain those markets, support those markets, solicit clients with a fea...
