Re: aggregators or groups that specialize

Depends on the state. I'm only familiar with California markets - Progressive (Drive), Foremost, Infinity, Kemper specialty, Mapfre (Commerce West).

Re: aggregators or groups that specialize

You probably don't need to join any aggregators if you plan to specialize in non-standard personal auto. Appointments from carriers write drivers with foreign license shouldn't be too hard to get.

Exactly. The company still took in more than they paid out. Bloodsuckers.

Re: Commercial building with sprinklers

It varies from carrier to carrier and probably differs on occupancy, but I've seen somewhere from 15% to up to 40%.

Re: Car insurance in SF for non-citizens

Non-citizen is not an issue. Many carriers, Progressive, Kemper specialty, Infinity, Foremost, will write drivers w/o a U.S. license. Most of them have a min. 6 months term though. W/o a permanent address could pose a problem. Most carriers will not issue policy if you're staying in a hotel. Also, m...

They have their niches. I seldom use them now that they require the insured to sign on the app that can only be printed out after the coverage is bound.

Foremost writes short term rentals. How is the guest house insured on the current policy? As other structure?

wow $36 rates. But I guess they can afford it - product's gross margin is probably 50-70%.

Re: Insurance Acounting query (minimum earned premium policy

That sounds like an accounting question...but I doubt the company will recognize the full amount as earned at inception - there's always a chance the carrier cancels the policy, which they'll have to give a refund to the insured.

I dont think sales receipt is the rating basis for floater. The $2400 premium looks more like to me is for general liability.

Re: Hartford School of Insurance

I went to the Hartford school about 9 years ago when I was 6 months into my job. It's a good program when you're new to commercial insurance. It teaches you how to read and interpret policy coverages. I wouldnt say I bacame a "Commericial line specialist" instantly - as the designation it ...

Re: Designation Suggestions

I just finished the ARM exams eariler this year, and took them as complete sets. Make 3 trips for one course is no fun. I definately felt ARM exams are more challeging than CPCU exams - it took me almost the same amount time to complete the exam even though CPCU's allowed 3 hours. I'd suggest you to...

Re: Do I need to schedule fine arts?

Even an HO5 will always exclude Earthquake and Flood. In addition, there usually is a sublimit if the items are off-premise. Have them scheduled ususally addresses those concerns.
