Re: Brand new agent starting up a retail front
Claire , enjoyed your post as my situation is similar with the exception of the size of your book and looking after elderly family and friends. I am curious , what do you spend $150 marketing on?? Thanks for the post.

Re: Any and all advice
Totally agree with D and the others, concentrate on commercial accounts. Also I would add this, get out on your own as a independent, fast track it. This will require a mentor. My regret is waiting till I was in my 40's.

Re: How many servicers do you need?
Hi Gabriel I would have to reply that it depends on the service model and these customers. Some are extremely low maintenance while others can be very high maintenance. Personally can say that commercial accts. 20X the premium can be less maintenance than one very thrifty personal P&C customer. ...

Re: "I don't want to tell you my current premiums"
My experience has been that if the buyer behaves this way its one of two things. 1. No motivation to move the business or 2. A very few that believe this way they create a more competitive atmosphere. Regardless this is where I qualify the buyer and generally have no motivation to work with them as ...

Small Town, I would go to US Risk with that one. I do Umb with them up to 10M and customers always pleased with the markets and rates. My guess is if they cannot handle it then they will know who does. Ask them if Torus can quote it. Happy Hunting

Beyert1 if you can swing it, cut down the overhead and make a office in your residence and save some $$$. If you need admin/CSR help then you can contract out to a group called Wahve, that provides this service. You probably need to separate yourself from your brick and mortar, it has bad energy. Th...

Re: Audit Premium Financing
Joey 52, recently had a Iron and Steel erector that projected his payroll to be about $240k and ended up after audit being $998K. He got hit over the head with a bill that was North of 100k. Of course he called up and was fit to be tied. When this happens, try this it certainly worked in my situatio...

Hello Retired 1, sounds pretty nice. National Lloyds will write it as long as it is not bigger than 3000 Sq Ft. I can write with them. Also if you send pictures and more data , can put it out to other markets. While back had the same issue with a commercial customer that lived in a dome type house. ...

Have been with SIAA for last four years. So far so good. A lot of course depends on the arrangement you are working through. Your satisfaction will be dependent on how fast the marketing employee can turn around quotes if you are like me. The contract called for 5K up front, minimum $300 monthly fee...
