Re: CIC Designation

I have a suggestion for a little help with the CIC curriculum. Purchase The Insurance Essentials Handbook from the National Alliance Research Academy (yes, the same people who bring you CIC). It contains a synopsis of everything you are going to see in the CIC institutes. It will help when some of t...

Re: Newly Licensed - Please Help!

Education v. Experience in getting insurance jobs Experience in the right area is going to get you the job. I have been in the insurance field for 38 years, have a CPCU, CLU, CIC, ACSR, and a Masters Degree and guess what? I cannot even break into an assistant underwriter job, paying $45,000. I have...

Re: Good places to get a job in the insurance industry

It is a soft market for insurance jobs. I have 40 years experience, a CPCU, CLU, CIC, ACSR, ITP and a Masters in Public Administration. Re: CIC or CRM

Hi Sundance, I work in Trenton, NJ. Yes, I think my salary is low as well but you are right in that a company does not always think so. My latest evaluation was 4.5 overall with 5 being the highest. Yet, my raise was 1.3% which does not pay for the gas I use to get here. All that education (CPCU, CL...

Re: CIC or CRM

I am a CIC, but did not pass every examination the first time. But, I am also an ACSR, CLU, and CPCU and had problems on some of those exams as well. I have sat through 3 CRM courses (for CIC required CE) and found them very informative but will not attempt the examinations. Stick with the CIC, for ...
