Re: Motel without fenced pool
The insured is probably better off just add a fence or fill the pool up. The premium is going to be pretty steep if you can find an underwriter crazy enough to take it.

Re: Non-profit with incidental international exposure
Have you tried Travelers, Chubb, or AIG? Those carriers should have an international coverage endorsement readily avaialble.

Re: Progressive Weasling?
I think the question is did your insured took reasonable care of the car when it was in their custody. If they did, then they're probably not legally liable. To perserve a good business relationship for the tow company, it's probably better for them to buy Primary Direct rather than legal liability....

I think most preferred and standard carriers shy away from livery. Have you tried Northland Insurance? They're a specialty arm for Travelers.

Re: Personal Quake Insurance - CA
Fidelity gives direct appointments to retail agents, not sure if you can access them through a GA or not. Their rates may not necessarily lower than Geovera or other carriers, but they have pretty good coverage. Their "preferred" program includes contents at 50% of Cov. A.

Re: Should I get Cal. Low Cost Auto Ins. in our office?
In addition to what D's said, the plan offers low limit, 10/20/3. I agree that it does not make business sense for many agents from multiple standpoints. I believe the assigned risk and the low cost program have the same certification. And if you're a CAARP certified producer, you're obligated to as...

Re: CA-Guaranteed Replacement Cost
Just want to point out that for ERC to apply, many carrier stipulate the insured must notify the carrier if the replacment cost or SQFT of the dwelling increases exceeding certain %. GRC was the policy language used when I started my career in 1989 but was phased out soon thereafter and the language...

I would suggest you just move on...Perosnally, I wouldn't move an account from Standard marekt to E&S except for extradinary circumstances...and saving a couple of $100 is really not one of them. By the way, what type of "catastrphic area" are we talking about, earthquake, brush or flo...

Business Income - Rental Income
A client of mine raised an interesting question, and I'm still unsure after reading the ISO BI form again. He has a commercial bldg that leases to a single tenant. The leases states the tenant is reponsible for the property tax (Single net lease). Suppose a fire destroy the building, will the BI/EE ...

If you have Golden Eagle or Capital Ins., I'd suggest you discuss it with their UW. Traveler's MasterPac's UW doesnt really offer much flexibility in terms of eligibility.
