Re: Frustrated Georgia Agent

Just tell the reps that you are considering a break. No reason to tell them why. If they ask, just tell them you want to be your own man.

Re: Buying books/ books for sale

Check the classified section of this publication. Most will be Allstate agencies. Most IA for sale do not even make the advertisements as that seems to be the hot ticket these days.

Re: Direct mail

I have tried the Direct Mail firms in the past. I have gotten better results from direct mailings by hiring a high school kid to print stuff and stamp right out of my office. Used a Co-Op kid. Maybe I used the wrong out fit? Maybe I was not specific enough about what I wanted? Maybe my expectations ...

Re: Social Media

Since my last post on this topic, my friend in the other industry still believes this is the wave of the future even though he has got nothing out of it. He caught his daughters replacement using their time on her page, not the company page. Sometimes I wonder how I have lived this long not having c...

Nothing in Illinois under $35K premium. Try Appund.com as they may have a different Minn Premium in your state.

Re: Social Media

I just wrapped up my Ethics Training. Social Media was a topic of discussion - the wave of the future. HMMMM. I always though business was business and social media was not business. Soon enough, its all going to be over crowded with nothing but business. Maybe an Angies List set up should be the wa...

Re: bankruptcy

Bankruptcy policy? Why Bother? Only one way to fix bad credit. Time & Money.Had a guy finance a car that went through a recent BK due to divorce. He put $30K down on a $35K car. Bank financed him at the preferred rate.

Maybe the order should be Money & Time.

Re: Farmers Insurance

Two in the past 90 days that I know of. One pulled the car from them and turned the claim into State Farm. Total value at Farmers $3800. State Farm $5200. The other shorted their client $3800 from KBB, Auto Trader & NADA average pricing.

Beat Travelers high or low? In what state? Was your credit better when Farmers ran it vs when Travelers ran it?

Re: Farmers Insurance

Depends on your sales rep. He / She could have requested it for your agency. Mine ended at the end of last quater. It is a lump sum payment.

But, it is over.

Re: Farmers Insurance

The story told above is not what I experienced from all three (yes three) of my DMs. They were all there to help. When ever I needed them, they were there. The first one trained me in the business. The second one got me started again after I sputtered. The third wished me well on the way out. I stil...
