Per Travelers, this will be in all states that get the new auto product.

Travelers reducing commissions
Yesterday, Travelers announced via conference call, that they are reducing agent's commissions on their new personal lines auto policy to 12% NB and renewal. The red umbrella has lost it's luster in my agency. I can't believe that Travelers thinks that holding back an extra $30 in commission for eve...

Re: Foremost Commission Cuts
It appears that Foremost is wanting to shed some policies. I would be rolling my book upon renewal if I had any Foremost policies in force...

Foremost Commission Cuts
I heard Foremost has lost their mind, and have announced commission cuts to the IA channel. Anyone not planning on rolling your entire Foremost book?

omniplus, if you signed a non-compete with the other agency, then you will need to refer the legal document to see if you would be breaking it.

Re: Farmers vs. Independent
I would like to add to the phrase:"If you want to own an agency the long term vision needs to be..." I would finish the sentence as follows:"...to actually own your own agency." Captive agents do not own anything but the debt. Go IA, so that you can trully "own" your ow...

d's ins store, great response! On that thought, do you think the days are numbered for us IA's? I think we can all agree that IA's will surely outlive the captive model, but how many more years do you think we have as agents to earn a living?

Re: Online Competition
reecon, if you are referring to Farmers Insurance using 21st Century to directly compete against the agency force, I would say your future is not very bright. The problem is, every morning that you choose to open the office, quote and sell policies for FIG, is another day you are providing money(pre...

Re: Farmers vs. Independent
I agree with Chrome. What amazes me, is that after all the information about Farmers is posted and read here, and everywhere else, why are people still interested in becoming a FIG agent? If only 2.5% of all new Farmers agent actually survive into year 2, what makes anyone else think that they will ...

Re: Farmers vs. Independent
hm, you can take what sacman says to the bank. He has been very helpful to many people, who are trying to find out the truth about the Farmers agent career. I would listen to every word he tells you. This forum is generally good. However, you would be best served if you posted your questions in a fo...

"Thanks lonestar, One more question for you? They say after you are a reserve agent first three months, you can become a career agent, and at that point you get full benefits? Confused, I thought you would be an independent contractor? How would that work .. anybody know? - hmberter" hmber...

Re: 1st Year as a Producer Stories
Designations will mainly benefit you, the agent, through self help, self learning about insurance in general. Other than that, the general public does not know(and possibly is indifferent) what 3 or 4 initials after an agent's name means. I think most of the insurance buying public, if they see a so...

JM, your only limitations will be:
1. If the landlord will rent the space to you
2. If you will sign the lease.

Re: Farmers vs. Independent
hmberter, you may visit the following website. This is a site where several current and ex Farmers agents post about Farmers. I suggest you login and ask the same question there that you did here. But only do this if you "Can handle the truth" as Jack Nicholson's character said in "A ...
