Re: Do you use online leads services?

Robert742,

You are spot on. I price companies across the USA and Esurance is regularly one of the highest, while GEICO is regularly one of the lowest. That changes up depending on market and appetite in different states.

The market is constantly changing, and assuming, is very poor for business.

Re: Track Your CSR's Daily Sales Activity

Nothing more annoying to a person, than having some jerk running round with a stopwatch looking over your shoulder, making you log every single thing. The agency mgt report is the way to go...log productivity objectively across all producers, without intruding on their personal space every single se...

Re: Software - Agent, not Agency

If you just want to track name, lob, address, phone, expiration, premium, Excel, Openoffice [FREE], or Google Docs [FREE] will do it. You can sort by any of the columns like expiration, search for a name, etc.

Re: Adding Addtional Insureds

Shouldn't the AI requestor contact the primary and request the primary to add them? Seems like your adding work for yourselves, when the requestor should be filling out an Change Request for an AI, sending it to the insured to sign, and then giving it to you. If a loss occurs in the the interim, it ...

Re: Are Insurance Agents Employees or Independent Contractor

Get a good accountant! If you treat each licensed producer as a separate business entity, transferring a % of commission into their account each month, you would not need to treat them as employees. They would need to purchase their own laptops, equipment, would get mileage, and other perks like wri...

Re: Agency Management System

That seems like politically correct speak for "Ease of Use" is beyond a normal user.

Still not a good thing. I can start my car, buy and sell stock, file IRS tax payments, any number of things very easily...why not push button agency management systems???

Best Insurance LinkedIn Group

Fellow insurance workers, I would like to know what you consider the best two or three LinkedIn groups for insurance are. I have monitored the ACT Technology group but it seems to be heavily censored, so much so that opposing viewpoints are removed or not shown, and am very disappointed with it. Wha...

Re: Agency Management System

What I get from this:

Users can't get the support they need at the two largest agency management systems. So much so that independent consulting firms exist to fix the issues.

I just can't view the systems problems or the need for consultants as a positive.

Re: Why Would an Agency Retain Trust Account Service?

I don't know of such a resource. Most small agents simply have two bank accounts, one for operations, and one for premium trust. No matter the legislation in the state, this is good procedure. You know to NEVER touch the premium trust account, and the operations account can give you a rough balance ...
